Taking a look at the cover of the blog I came across Sonia’s interesting article, where she explains that tripping over the same stone several times, or even over different stones, is something we have to take the positive side of.. Therefore, today we will discover, thanks to this story, a stone in my pathmore about this fact.

Well, speaking of stones, I am going to propose a very short story, which I published recently, called A stone on the roadwhich makes us see how the same situation, the same reality, can be interpreted differently by each person.

A stone in my path should never be a reason to turn back

Story a stone in my path

The teacher and his disciples were gathered when he asked them a question:

– Imagine a person you know or have heard about, and think for a moment, if that person found a stone, what they could do with it. But write down the answer on paper, so that you are not influenced by the answers of others.

The disciples did as their teacher ordered and, when finished, he collected all the papers and proceeded to read them aloud.

– I know a friend who, upon stumbling upon it, would not even realize that it exists in his path – wrote one of the disciples.

– The baker’s naughty son would use her as a projectile, in a violent and inappropriate way of behavior, thought another.

– I imagine the peasant who, tired, would use it to sit on it and be able to rest.

– The engineer will use it to build buildings.

– The ingenious Drummond would make a poem about it.

– The postman’s son would use her as a toy.

– The great Michelangelo would make the most beautiful sculpture with it.

– David could kill Goliath with it.

And so, after having read all the answers, each and every one of the disciples had written something different. The students, expectant and intrigued, asked the teacher, and this concluded the lesson:

– Every time something happens, there is only one reality. This reality is certainly unique, but each person interprets it in their own way, depending on their knowledge, their state of mind, their perspective on things and their experience.

It depends only on you, in the face of each event that happens, to react with fear, without perspective and impartiality, or on the contrary, try to apply your knowledge, wisdom and act with courage and intelligence.

What would you do with a stone?

Thanks to the story a stone in my path We can be aware that each person has a very different vision of the same reality.. However, we cannot blame that stone for stumbling, nor understand it as a reason to stop moving forward and turn back.

As the teacher says, we have to apply our knowledge and wisdom to resolve the situation in the best way possible for us. Normally, I will always interpret a stone in my path as bad luck, however, is this really the case?

Others may see it as an opportunity to confront their insecurities, other people as a way to grow and learn from their mistakes. Sometimes, a stone in my path can mean that I stop to recognize if everything I do is doing it right..

All of this will always depend on the moment in which that stone appears in our path, the goal we are trying to achieve at that moment and what we have not yet solved (fears, insecurities, low self-esteem) but that we still carry behind us.
