Hubby loves to take care of the vehicle at the weekend and there’s always a little automotive wax left? Cool, even a little leftover is enough to solve several domestic problems that seem unsolvable, such as recovering scratched CDs and DVDs, preventing stains on metal faucets and preventing the mirror from fogging up during the shower. Get to work!

1. Sharp pruning shears

Do you know why it gets hard, rusts and loses its thread quickly? Is that the sap of plants, composed mainly of amino acids and sugars, oxidizes the metal. Apply carnauba-based car wax to the screw that joins the blades and the blades themselves before pruning. The coating formed by the product protects the metal and facilitates cleaning.

2. New toilet

Eliminate part stains and prevent clogging in minutes and without drama. Stop the flow of water to the toilet, apply a thin layer of wax inside it, let it act for ten minutes, open the valve and flush. Stains come off with the fluidizing action of the product, which also lubricates the drainpipe, preventing the toilet from clogging.

3. Always clean hood

It’s even discouraging to think about rubbing the accumulated fat in the device’s filter. But cheer up, because it will be the last time! After cleaning with soap and water, spread automotive wax on the filter in a circular motion. The coating facilitates the next cleaning and prevents grease from settling in the filter.

4. Perfect reflex

Defogging the mirror after showering can be a time-consuming task in the morning rush, as I still have to do my makeup and time is running out! Avoid this stress by applying a thin layer of car wax to the part. Then remove the excess with a clean flannel. The product creates a transparent film on the surface and does not let steam build up. The effect lasts for about 30 days!

5. Shiny Faucets

A few hours after polishing the faucets you notice that they are stained again. Fix the problem once and for all: Clean and dry the parts and apply a small amount of wax. It works like a shield, where the water will slide without staining. The tip is valid for chrome taps.

6. Antirust

Changing light bulbs in the house can be hard work when the thread on the socket is rusted. This usually happens in parts that are outside the house. But you can do the job effortlessly if you apply 1 teaspoon of car wax inside the thread before attaching the bulb. The wax acts as a sealant, preventing moisture from oxidizing the metal.

7. Runs easy

You pull back the shower curtain and it gets stuck halfway. Solve the inconvenience by waxing the bar. The product forms an invisible coating, which allows the curtain rings to slide easily and silently. But this trick only works on aluminum or painted bars, because car wax will dry out the plastic material over time. Reapply whenever you feel necessary.

8. Pet safe

If it’s not aluminum, your dog or cat’s identification plate ends up oxidizing over time and making it difficult to read the pet’s information. You can keep it protected easy, easy: spread a thin layer of automotive wax on the metal. Let it dry and only then put the plaque back on the collar. Repeat the process every two months.

9. Food just for birds!

You put a bird feeder in the backyard, but mice have been partying at the seed buffet? Just use a good amount of car wax on the stick holding the tray to make it slippery. This will prevent the “little thieves” from climbing the feeder and ending up with all the food.
