9 non-obvious ways to lose weight without dieting or exercise

1. Eat from red plates

This might sound a little strange, but research has shown that people eat less off a red plate than a white or blue one. This is because this color is subconsciously associated with prohibitions and signs to stop, and therefore people eat less by instinct. In the experiment, participants were given cakes on red, white, and blue plates. Those who caught red ate much less than the rest. To be fair, it must be taken into account that individuals consumed not entirely healthy food. Therefore, the advice to eat on a red plate is recommended with unhealthy products.

By consuming protein-rich foods, a person becomes satiated sooner. One study revealed that increasing protein intake from 15% to 30% helped participants consume 440 fewer calories per day. As a result, they managed to lose, on average, 5 kilos of excess weight over a 12-week period. And that’s without deliberately limiting consumption.

Products considered “champions” in terms of high protein content: fillets (chicken and veal), fish, eggs, cottage cheese, cheese, buckwheat and beans.

When you have a slight feeling of hunger, you “risk” snacking on something. Chew sugar-free gum with a strong peppermint flavor for several minutes. Its taste slows down the functioning of the taste buds, and the desire to urgently eat something disappears.

Buy a new dress or pair of jeans that are a few sizes too small and put them in a visible place in your home. In this way, before your eyes, there will always be a great reminder of what specific goal you would like to achieve.

Join friends or a group whose members are also trying to lose weight. This will give you words of encouragement and motivation. One study shows that among people who are attached to others in their struggle to lose weight, 20% more typically achieve their goal.

According to researchers at the University of Maastricht, the cold helps to burn fat. It turns white fat into brown, which is more easily metabolized by the body.
