9 foolproof tricks to drive more comfortably and safely

If you usually have difficulties when parking your car, today’s post will make your life easier. You will be surprised by the tips we bring. They show, above all, that parking a vehicle is easier than it seems. For this, it is important to pay attention to some details. These simple instructions can help novice and experienced drivers alike. Therefore, it is important to pass them on to young people who are planning to get their driver’s license.

Check out the simple suggestions that the awesome.club bring it today and get ready to be a lot less stressed when parking and driving.

1. Parking between two cars

This way of parking is often a real nightmare for many novice drivers. First, make sure you have enough space. Suppose you have to park on the right side. In that case, a space about 50% larger than your car is needed.

Stop parallel to the vehicle in front of the parking space. Let’s call it car #1. Look over your right shoulder through the rear window and start backing up in a straight line. When the back of car #1 comes into view around this corner, start turning the steering wheel to the right, steering your car into the spot where you intend to park. Look in the left rear view mirror. When you can see the entire front end of the car from behind—let’s call it vehicle #2—start turning the steering wheel the other way to make the car straighten out. Look in the right mirror. When you see the headlight of car #1, turn the steering wheel to the left, so that the car definitely enters the space. Park parallel to the curb, leaving room for cars #1 and #2 to pull out of their spaces.

You may have to stop a little further away in step 1 if your car is much larger than the default.

2. Parking at 45°

The following steps are to park the car at this angle on the right side.

Keep your car on the left side of the lane wherever you are, as much as possible. Leave the car’s right mirror aligned with the rear headlight of the car on your right. Then, turn to the right side and drive forward until the vehicle enters the parking space. Turn the steering wheel to the left to straighten the car.

You may have to make small adjustments in step #2 if your car size is not standard.

3. Adjust the driver’s side mirror

Sit in the driver’s seat, lean to the left as much as possible (towards the window) and adjust the mirror so you can see the rear bumper. By the time you’re seated correctly, you’ll barely be able to see it.

4. Adjust the passenger side mirror

Sit in the driver’s seat, lean to the right so your head is almost in the center of the car and adjust the mirror so you can see the rear bumper. When you are sitting correctly, you will practically not be able to see it.

5. Adjust the rear view mirror

Adjust the rearview mirror so that the rear window is exactly in the center of your point of view.

6. Perpendicular parking

Let’s assume you want to park your car perpendicular to the right side — 90 degrees.

Open the curve wide; that is, keep the car as much as possible on the left side, always looking to see if there is a car coming in the other direction. The further to the left you are, the easier it will be.

Align your right mirror with the right line of the space where you intend to park.

Very slowly, move forward and turn all the way to the right, driving the car almost straight into the parking space. Turn the steering wheel to the left, straightening the car. If there is not enough space on the left side, place the car in reverse. Pass the parking space and reverse by turning the steering wheel to the right, guiding the car little by little into the parking space. At the end, straighten the direction.

7. Adjust the driver’s seat

This should always be the first step before starting the vehicle. A properly adjusted seat will make driving safer and less tiring.

Seat Height: Adjust so that you can clearly see the dashboard and street/road. If you’re short and still don’t have good vision even with the maximum adjustment, place a cushion on the seat. Seat position: push the seat forward so that you can reach the pedals without fully extending your legs; your back should not be separated from the backrest. The knees should be slightly bent and it is important that there is a small gap between the back of the knees and the seat. Seat Tilt: Backrest tilt should be approximately 100° – 110°. Lumbar support: if your car seat has lumbar support, you must adjust its height and depth. The bottom should line up with your belt and the depth should support the lumbar curve of your back. Headrest: adjust the height so that it is in the middle of your head. Despite the name, in reality this equipment was not created to rest your head; it was designed to protect the neck in case of accidents. This means that there should be a small gap between the head and the support. Ideally, this space should be the equivalent of a fist.

8. Position of the hands on the steering wheel

Adjusting the steering wheel is crucial for your safety.

Adjust so that you can clearly see the dashboard and have at least 30 cm between the steering wheel and your body. Your hands should be slightly lower than your shoulders. The most common hand placement trick is to imagine that the steering wheel is a clock. People, in general, feel more comfortable holding the steering wheel in the ’15:45′ position (that is, left hand on number 9 and right hand on number 3). However, some people prefer the ‘8:20’ position. Both are acceptable; choose whichever is most comfortable for you. Some specialists do not recommend the ’10:10′ position, as, in the event of an accident, the air bag may injure the driver’s arms.
