9 Excellent Brazilian beaches with an international seal of quality

The Brazilian coastline is 7,491 kilometers long. There are more than 2 thousand beaches. However, only nine of them have the blue flag, an international certification that guarantees the quality of their water and the sustainability of tourism in these regions.

What is the blue flag and why is it important?

The Blue Flag is a program that involves several international entities that assess the quality of beaches, marinas and boats. To get the title, which is displayed like a trophy by those selected, it is necessary to meet a series of strict criteria. The benefit for the tourist is that he will find very good quality water, in a place that is concerned with sustainable and responsible practices in the field of activity in which it operates🇧🇷 This year, 15 of these titles were awarded to Brazil, nine of them beaches, five marinas and one tour operator. Of the nine Brazilian beaches with that title, six are in Santa Catarina.

This beautiful beach is located in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, and its strip of sand is only 850 meters long. It is so called because of the strength of its waves and the rough sea, being one of the favorite places for surfers.

The beach is 24 km from the center of Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina, and is inside a municipal park with vegetation remaining from the Atlantic Forest, which has an extension of 20 square km. It is one of the most important areas of environmental conservation in Florianópolis.

This beach is on Ilha dos Frades, in Salvador (Bahia). This is one of the islands in the Baía de Todos os Santos.
