Want to know the way to a man’s heart?

Many years ago, I spoke with a co-worker of mine who has been married for 15 years. She said three little things make a big difference in a husband’s mood when he walks in the door after a day at work: A big hug, a kiss and a cup of coffee.

This may not be my scenario or yours, but she knows what will win her husband’s heart, and because she loves him, she does these three simple things.

I was thinking about this question this week. So I decided to talk to some men and ask what their wives do that they really love. I asked them, what do they do that makes your heart melt?

Here are 5 things they told me:

1. Pay attention to what he does and praise him

When men do things around the house, there are two purposes: one is to solve the problem, the second is to impress her.

When your husband fixed something, did he ever announce it or show it to you? It’s because he’s looking for your approval. He wants to be your hero.

If you want to win your husband’s love, one of the best ways is to see what he does and tell him how amazing he is or how grateful you are for that.

2. Start sex

Almost all the men said how much they loved it when their wives initiated sex or wanted them to. It makes him feel connected to you and lets him know that he is still wanted.

3. Support and encourage your purposes

Something very important for men is that their lives have a purpose. That purpose can be tied to what they do for a career or hobby. Men need a mission.

What is your husband’s passion? What is your mission to accomplish?

Nothing lifts a man’s spirits or confidence more than the support of a loving woman. The way to a man’s heart is to support the purpose his heart is passionate about.

4. Defend it

There’s nothing more demoralizing for a man than when he’s the butt of someone’s joke and his wife laughs too. Or worse yet, she’s the one making fun of him.

Yes, there are times when we should be able to laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves too seriously. He may agree, however, deep down, behind the laughter and self-deprecation that bring a lot of self-doubt, fear, and possible hurt.

5. Praise Him

Men want to know if they have what it takes. They want to know that they have the masculinity, competence, and wisdom to be the husband, father, and provider you need and want.

Let your husband know that you believe in him and would choose him over any other man out there to father your children. The best way to do this is to publicly praise him. As you do this, pay attention to the expression on your face. It will make you very happy!
