5 tips to face difficulties

There are times when everything seems to go wrong. Nothing goes as you expect. Things get tangled and don’t arrive, or arrive at the wrong time. Nothing is consolidated. Everything is confusing. And you may feel that you are exhausted, that there is nothing to do in the face of the difficulties.

These bad streaks often alter our perspective on events. We become more sensitive to everything negative and can easily fall into a pit of pessimism.

It is in those moments when we must remember five great truths that we sometimes overlook.

1. EVERYTHING HAPPENS

Life is a succession of cycles, in which there are some moments of clarity and others of darkness. Nothing lasts forever. We know it, but we also often forget it.

When we are very happy, it seems to us that from then on everything will be happy. On the contrary, if we are in difficultieswe may have the feeling that this will never end.

Both perceptions are false. In life sadness and happiness happen. In reality, there is no absolute happiness, nor absolute pain. Black and white rarely prevail: almost always what exists is a world of different colors, where light and darkness combine.

2. PAIN IS A SOURCE OF GROWTH

If everything always went as planned, we would become fragile and strange beings. Most likely, under these conditions, we would not be able to tolerate a difficulty, no matter how small. We wouldn’t have the tools to do it.

Pain, frustration and difficult experiences are sources of growth. When we encounter obstacles, we are also encountering challenges. Taking on these challenges is part of an evolutionary process, which sooner or later bears fruit.

3. COMPLAINING AND WORRYING IS NO WORK

If you fall into the trap of complaining, in reality you will only reinforce the presence of negative situations in your life. Before you least realize it, you will have created a mental crust that imprisons your creativity to come up with solutions.

Getting anxious about a problem doesn’t help you solve it. On the contrary: add a new difficulty to what you already have. You will surely act more assertively if instead of living for complaints, you focus on solutions. It’s the smartest thing you can do.

4. FEED PATIENCE

Without a doubt, patience is one of those virtues that represents a treasure for those who are fortunate enough to possess it. Those who manage to cultivate patience are happier, smarter and more successful.

Nothing worse than suffering uselessly for solutions that do not arrive quickly. Everything in life follows a process that will not be altered simply because you want it to. Patience helps you give time to time, not to fall into despair while the paths that lead you to an exit emerge, or are built.

5. KEEP GOING

If after having calmly reflected and tried to solve things by the means at your disposal, a solution does not appear, it is best to put aside what you cannot fix and move on.

Don’t be tempted to stagnate. To stay there, reproaching yourself or life for what you didn’t achieve or what you lost. If you get stuck in that dead end, chances are that sooner rather than later you will become a sullen and bitter person, who is further and further away from achieving peace and happiness.
