You can teach your child good manners from an early age, even before he enters school. “Guiding the child as to the proper posture for each situation always makes them more accepted”, says Rosa Maria Cavalcanti Marcos, pedagogical coordinator at Colégio Brasil Canada, in São Paulo. When she becomes an adult, she will be more likely to get a good job and be more respected by everyone.

The adult is the one who sets the example

From the age of 2, the little one is ready to start learning, little by little, the rules of good education.

And the model counts a lot at this time. There is no point in saying one thing and doing another. “All the adults who live with the child are educators. She will always imitate the people she lives with”, says Rosa.

Check out the list below and help your child be an educated child today and a prepared adult in the future.

1. Always use the “magic words”: please, thank you (thank you if it’s a girl), sorry, excuse me.

2. Respect all people and never say things that might hurt someone’s feelings.

3. Say good morning, good afternoon and see you later, without making a face.

4. Don’t interrupt people when they are talking.
