20 geometric walls that will inspire you to get your hands dirty

Anyone who is always up to date with the latest in the world of decoration must have already seen (and fallen in love with) geometric walls. The trend, which can be applied in any environment, adds a hint of modernity and joy to the space, and its figures made with the help of masking tape, can configure bespoke shapes or not.

The basic point of this technique is the choice of colors, according to the objective that the resident wants to achieve. To color a clean environment, the choice of striking tones can make the room very youthful and contemporary. But if the intention is to offer more coziness to the space, study a perfect marriage between earthy colors and pastel tones. The result will be amazing!

If you like the idea, but don’t know where to start, check out a tutorial on this project below and realize that the execution can be easier than you think:

how to make a geometric wall

materials

  • 1 can of 1/4 of each desired color (if the objective is to paint up to 3 walls)
  • 1 small roll, materials to protect the floor (plastic bag, cardboard, etc.)
  • Brush tool
  • Masking tape (preferably the widest)
  • paint tray

Once you have everything in hand, let’s get to practice! The tutorial below can be run with 3 or more colors:

Step by step

  1. First, protect the floor along the entire length below the wall that will receive the painting;
  2. Next, pass the masking tape all over the baseboard, ceiling (if painting is done up to this region), and sides;
  3. With everything protected, start creating your geometric shapes with masking tape. Wider models will help guide you in the correct direction of the line, as the line will be slightly wrinkled if it is pasted crookedly;
  4. Pour the paint that will be applied at the highest point of the wall on the paint tray and apply the necessary coats until the color is uniform.
  5. The next step is to apply another color that is not linked to the one you just painted. Repeat the entire previous process with this new paint, and wait for it to dry well.
  6. Remove the tapes that delimited the colors already painted, and pass it again, but this time on top of the paintings already done. Capriche to apply it very close to the already painted line, ok?
  7. Apply the next color and wait for it to dry well.
  8. Finally, remove all the tapes and enjoy your work of art!

Tip: as you will be using different colors in the same project, it is recommended that the tray be “covered” with a plastic bag. Thus, with each color change, it is enough to discard the plastic and repeat the process to receive the other ink.

If your intention is to create an art using the width of the common masking tape in your favor, just take a look at this video tutorial:

In this project, the vlogger made bespoke geometric shapes and took the opportunity to create a line in the original color of the wall as a divider between the shapes. It turned out pretty cool, don’t you think?
