When made at home, detox juice is a nutritious option for those looking for a healthier diet”, explains Cátia Medeiros.
  • Strengthens the immune system: according to Cátia, “the mixture of ingredients that make up the green juice provides a series of nutrients and is very rich in chlorophyll, in addition to fiber and antioxidants. If detox juice is consumed regularly, it can be a potent helper in strengthening the immune system.”
  • Helps in liver cleansing: “Detox juice is a drink that has components that favor liver cleansing. The liver is the most important organ in the detoxification process. The nutrients present in the juice are essential for transforming the toxins (fat-soluble substances) present in the body into water-soluble substances, so that, then, they can be eliminated”, explains Thaianna Velasco.
  • Helps in weight loss: Cátia highlights that detox juice is an ally for those who want to lose weight. “By having ingredients with diuretic characteristics, it helps to prevent swelling and, if combined with a balanced diet and physical activity, it can make the weight loss process easier and less time consuming”.

You don’t need a special indication to drink detox juice: anyone who wants to include this nutritious food in their routine can do so. Thaianna pays attention to just one caveat: “because it is rich in fiber, people who have a loose bowel should not abuse it”.

In addition, “detox juice is recommended when the individual has difficulty ingesting vegetables and greens, because, generally, acceptance is better when it is in the form of juice. It is also indicated for those who have fluid retention and an intestine that does not work well”, points out Cátia.

“Just like any other food, detox juice should be consumed in moderation. So, it shouldn’t be more than one glass a day”, says Cátia. She also warns that the juice should not be taken as a meal replacement, as it will not provide all the nutrients the body needs on its own.

As for the time of consumption, the morning is the most recommended alternative. “Fasting in the morning is the best time, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be taken throughout the day. It should only be avoided during large meals, because at that time we need gastric acid to help with the food digestion process and green juice, because it is very alkaline, can disrupt this process”, explains Thaianna.

  6. Ginger: is digestive and accelerates metabolism.
