16 Miraculous Restorations Made by True Art Savers

Frame restorers can be compared to neurosurgeons: both have no margin for error. If they choose the wrong solvent to remove some old, tarnished varnish, they could end up destroying a work that has been preserved for many centuries. The main qualities of a good restaurateur are patience and attentiveness. To give you an idea, restoring just one centimeter of a painting can take up to six months. The objective is not to make the painting “brand new”, but to clarify, correct and, at the same time, maintain the characteristics of each era.
