2. Lady Mary and Cora Crawley, of Downton Abbey

Lady Mary Josephine Crawley (Michelle Dockery) is the eldest daughter of Robert and Cora Crawley (Elizabeth McGovern) and she is responsible for saving Downton Abbey. And the physical resemblance between the two is striking: it’s as if Lady Mary were a younger version of her own mother.

3. Randy and Tim, from Home Improvement

The sitcom, which catapulted Tim Allen’s acting career, spent a decade on the air. The production showed the misadventures of the Taylor family, made up of Tim, “the tool man”, his wife, Jill, and the couple’s three children: Brad, Randy and Mark. Each of them had a characteristic personality, which became more marked over the years. But what was most striking was the physical resemblance between Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the middle son, and his fictional father.

4. Björn and Ragnar, in vikings

Björn “Iron Arm” (Alexander Ludwig) is the eldest son of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and Lagertha. 5. Tonya and Rochelle, from Everybody hates Chris

The series inspired by the teenage experiences of comedian Chris Rock shows the daily life of a family in Brooklyn. Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) is the fictional version of Chris’ mother and the protagonist of several episodes that are beyond funny. Tonya (Imani Hakim) is a kind of “female version” of Tony Rock, the actor’s brother. One of the things that give more credibility to the production is precisely the similarity between mother and daughter. It’s like they really are an extension of Chris Rock’s royal family.

6. Archie and Fred, from riverdale

Archibald “Archie” Andrews (KJ Apa), the protagonist of Riverdale, lives with his father, Fred (Luke Perry), who owns a construction business. Father and son have had a very strong bond since Archie’s mother moved to Chicago. Therefore, the decision to cast actors so similar to play father and son was more than right.

7. Mia and Felicity, from arrow

8. Rory Gilmore and Christopher Hayden of Gilmore Girls

When it comes to depicting the relationship between mother and daughter, it’s practically impossible not to mention Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel). In the series, the viewer can see several mentions of Rory’s blue eyes, characteristic of her mother’s homestead, but one of the highlights of the production was actor David Sutcliffe playing Christopher Hayden, Rory’s father. Both look so much alike that they could actually be seen as father and daughter on the small screen.

Yes, both are mother and daughter at the same time. Evidently, the production needed to find two actresses who were physically similar, and the mission was successfully accomplished.

11. JD and Sam, from scrubs

Scrubs viewers were pleasantly surprised when JD’s father (Zach Braff), played by none other than John Ritter, appeared in the plot. His character, Sam Dorian, was a traveling office supply salesman. 12. Phil Dunphy and Frank Dunphy, from Modern Family

When the conversation revolves around exemplary TV parents, it’s clear that Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) deserves special attention. But for that, he has the help of his own father in fiction: Frank Dunphy (Fred Willard), who is as charismatic as Phil and is always supporting his son in everything. 15. Jane and Xiomara, from Jane the Virgin

Therefore, Jane and Xiomara even look like sisters in the series. A curious fact: the ages of the actresses are only six years apart.

16. Emma Swan and Mary Margaret, of Once Upon a time

The series, which brings fairy tales to real life, surprised many people by the peculiar adaptation of traditional stories (some more successful than others) and by the casting chosen. Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin), Snow White’s name in the fictional town of Storybroke, is a schoolteacher who has no memory of her life in the fantasy world. There, she and her husband Prince Charming had a daughter named Emma (Jennifer Morrison), but she was sent to the real world by the Wicked Witch as a form of curse.
