16 Brazilian television presenters who were very different during their youth

We’re so used to seeing TV presenters on a weekly basis that we often don’t notice how they’ve changed over the years. The appearance of these artists is so “marked” in our head, that we have a hard time imagining them younger — or even before fame.

Looking only at the photo on the left, would you know who José Luiz Datena is? It’s amazing how the journalist and presenter of the Band has changed a lot since his youth.

Once a heartthrob, always a heartthrob. Roberto Justus is over 60 years old, but he still has the same jovial air, don’t you think? The presenter became known for running programs such as O Aprendiz, A Fazenda and Topa ou Não Topa.

Andre Marques has a well-known face since his youth, when he played the famous Mocotó in Malhação. Since then, he has presented attractions such as Video Show, The Voice Kids and No Limite.

Before running RecordTV’s Hora do Faro program, Rodrigo Faro was already known for acting in soap operas. His debut on Globo took place in 1997, when he gave life to the character Beraldo in A Indomada.

Silvio Santos is such a famous presenter that he needs no introduction. Is it just us, or hasn’t he changed at all? Silvio could tell us where the fountain of youth is…

You may even know Gregório Duvivier through the Greg News program, from HBO, but the truth is that he has been present on television and in cinema for many years. The photo on the left is from 2007, when Gregório acted in the movie Podecrer! alongside Fernanda Paes Leme.

And what about Celso Portiolli’s 80s-style hair? Do you think the presenter has changed a lot or a little since his youth?

Can you believe that the photo on the left was taken at Serginho Groisman’s graduation? The presenter of the program Altas Horas even studied Law before graduating in Journalism.

Good thing Fábio Porchat decided to abandon his old haircut, don’t you think? The actor known for his work on Porta dos Fundos made his debut as a talk show host in 2016, on Programa do Porchat.

Leão Lobo is another well-loved figure on Brazilian television and has worked on programs such as Melhor da Tarde and Fofocalizando. He still has the same face, do you agree?

With a unique humor, Marcos Mion has the gift of animating any program — such as the attractions Legendários and A Fazenda. But let’s not forget that his career got off to a brilliant start as an MTV VJ.

Marcio Garcia has a gift for working with children. Many years before running The Voice Kids, the artist presented Gente Inocente, a program that marked the childhood and adolescence of many Brazilians in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Luciano Huck is known for his long career directing programs on Rede Globo. But let’s remember that he was already quite successful since the 90’s, when he presented Programa H, by Band. Do you remember that time?

Known mainly for being in front of the program Fantástico — O Show da Vida for years, Tadeu Schmidt joined TV Globo in 2000, but anyone who thinks that it was the Sunday program that kick-started his career is wrong. The journalist, at the beginning of the 21st century, was already covering important Formula 1 races. Do you remember his voice during these automobile shows?

Sérgio Chapelin was in front of several TV news programs on TV Globo, but it was even at Globo Repórter that he consolidated himself. The journalist was the first presenter of the attraction, in 1973, from which he also retired in 2019.
