15 teas against stress

According to Adauto Luiz dos Santos, professor of phytotherapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences, in São Paulo, the main teas to combat stress are:

1. Chamomile (Matricaria Chamomilla)
Part used: flower.

2. Lemon balm (Lippia alba)
Part used: leaves.

3. Fennel (Pimpinella anisum)
Part used: seed.

4. Garden mint (Mentha crispa)
Part used: leaves.

5. Lemongrass
(Cymbopogon citratus)
Part used: leaves.

6. Sete-sangrias (Cupea ingrata)
Part used: whole plant.

7. Lavender (Lavandula officinalis)
Used part: flower

8. Melissa (Melissa Oficinalis)
Part used: flower.

9. Passion fruit (Passiflora edulis)
Part used: leaves.

10. Star anise (Illicium verum)
Part used: seed and stem.

11. Jambolan
(Syzygium jambolanum)
Part used: leaves.

12. Tilia (Tilia cordata)
Part used: leaves.

Preparation mode: boil a cup (tea) of water and pour a spoon (tea) of the herb into it. Cover for 15 minutes and drink (unsweetened if possible).
Consumption: in case of moderate stress, drink up to three cups (tea) a day. If tiredness is severe, drink four to six cups daily.
Contraindication: pregnant women should consult a doctor before consuming any relaxing tea. Hypertensive patients cannot drink the drink made with the aforementioned herbs, as they contain stimulating substances.

13. Guarana (Paullinia cupana)
The most indicated: the powder made from the fruit.
Preparation mode: pour 250 ml of boiling water into a container with a spoon (tea) of the powder and cover for ten minutes. Drink a cup (tea) when you wake up and another in the afternoon.

14. Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
Part used: leaves.
Preparation mode: in a container with a spoon (dessert) of the herb, add two cups (tea) of boiling water and cover for ten minutes. Drink once a day, in the morning.

15. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Part used: leaves.
Preparation mode: add a spoon (dessert) of rosemary to a cup (tea) of boiling water and cover for ten minutes. Drink one serving in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

Enhance the effect:
– Mix two of the herbs. It is worth putting one or half measure indicated for each plant in the same measure of water. On a daily basis, alternate flavors.

– Ditch the sugar. The product has components that can neutralize the calming effect of the drink. If sweetening is unavoidable, use as little as possible.

– If the herb is a leaf or branch, chop it. If in seed, crush it with a spoon – this helps to better extract the substances from the plant.
