15 Movie Poster Mistakes That Probably Stealed The Spotlight From The Movies They Promoted

Everything is ready for the release of a new movie. Thousands of professionals worked hard on its production to make it a great success, as well as the famous posters fresh out of the oven to help publicize it in different media. However, not always everything goes according to plan, and some of these posters can cause a mix of emotions between laughter and amazement, possibly making us doubt our vision.

We, from awesome.club, once again we took out the magnifying glass and armed ourselves with a lot of patience to find 15 movie posters where the designers overdid it with Photoshop.

1. Pretty Woman

If there’s one thing distinctive about Richard Gere, it’s his gray hair, seen in the foreground on every movie screen in the movie Pretty Woman. So when we came across a poster for this hit ’90s production showing off her dark hair, we knew something was wrong.

2. Mamma Mia! The film

In 2008, and with a first class cast, Mamma Mia! The film, however, when looking at the poster, we had to switch lenses to believe what we were seeing. That neck is definitely very strange.

3. Becky Bloom’s Consumption Delusions

Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) is trying to get her groceries into a taxi. Meanwhile, we tried to put together the puzzle made by the designer with the bags behind the vehicle door, in the poster for Becky Bloom’s Delusions of Consumption.

4. Attack of the Blondes

5. Boone — The Bounty Hunter

Obviously we know that Photoshop is present in most movie posters, the fact is that they are often not very believable. Such is the case with Boone: The Bounty Hunter, as we still wonder where Gerard Butler is sitting.

6. Cinderella

When we saw this Cinderella movie poster, we thought that the Design Department had Photoshopped the body of Cinderella and the foot of one of her stepsisters.

7. Serpents on Board

The designers’ creativity in transforming the caduceus, symbol of medicine, into the film’s poster is undeniable. However, when we try to follow the snakes’ bodies, we realize that a piece of the puzzle is missing. If you want to check it out, just follow the snake’s body on the left downwards.

8. Husband by Chance

When we came across the poster for the movie Casual Husband, we couldn’t help but look at the hands of Colin Firth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Those arms definitely don’t look like theirs. Note that editing was used to make all three actors appear in the same photo.

9. Father in Double Dose

We take the magnifying glass to find out what happens to Mark Wahlberg’s right leg. We found it to be much longer than the left. Perhaps because the Editing Department wanted to make Mark (1.73 m) the same height as Will Ferrell (1.91 m).

10. The Apocalypse

11. Heavy Petting

We’re trying to understand how Babydoll (the dog) is kissing Daphne (Malin Akerman). When we zoomed in on the image, we found that this is due to the magic of Photoshop.

12. Beauty and the Beast

Life is full of details, so we couldn’t pass up this small but notorious retouching of the rose that Belle (Emma Watson) is holding on the Beauty and the Beast poster. A rose without thorns loses all its natural charm. We left the image of the flower from the film for you to compare.

13. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1

We observed the magic wand in Harry Potter’s hand, which made us wonder if what we were seeing was an effect of magic or a design error. The fact is that on this poster of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 we don’t know if Harry and Hermione are inside or outside the carriage, which makes us see yet another mistake for our list.

14. Omens of a Crime

It can’t be easy for designers to have to move independent images to create a single believable universe. In the poster for Murder, for example, there was a possible attempt to maintain the proportions of Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell’s faces, and the designers went a little too far with the latter’s head.

15. Love from a Distance

Tell us what other heavily Photoshopped movie posters you’ve looked at. Are you one of those people who prefer natural photos or are you a faithful lover of filters? Tell us in the comments!
