15 Brazilian beaches that are heaven on Earth

Shall we speak honestly? Brazil is a blessed country when it comes to natural beauties, but we don’t always appreciate it. Our coastline is full of paradisiacal beaches and these wonderful gems are worth exploring! A few weeks ago, even Jon Snow could not resist the charms of the sea made in Brazil and left the frozen wall of Westeros to sunbathe on the sands of Rio de Janeiro.

Well, Rio’s beaches need no introduction, but there is much more coastline to be explored throughout this big Brazil. So here’s a list of 15 surreal beaches worth visiting!

Sancho, in Fernando de Noronha (PE)

Baía do Sancho has twice been voted the best beach in the world by the famous travel website TripAdvisor. In 2015, it was the only Brazilian beach to appear on the list. Besides Sancho, Fernando de Noronha has a lot of nature and all the beaches are basically unbelievable. The archipelago is also the best place in Brazil to practice diving.

Lopes Mendes, in Ilha Grande (RJ)

Another paradise island and totally unmissable! The Ilha Grande fluminense is located in Angra dos Reis, has 193 km² and only 5 thousand inhabitants. Lopes Mendes stands out as the most beautiful beach there, but the island has many beautiful things to be explored.

Galés, in Maragogi (AL)

Nicknamed the Brazilian Caribbean, Maragogi is currently the hotspot on the Alagoas coast. The highlight goes to the natural pools of Galés, 6 kilometers from the coast. Get ready to swim through whole schools of fish!

Carneiros Beach, in Tamandaré (PE)

Pernambuco, blessed land! Do you dream of going to Noronha, but do you consider the prices a bit high? Don’t be discouraged, because the coast of Pernambuco has many more beautiful things to discover. That same TripAdvisor list elected Praia dos Carneiros as the 3rd best in Brazil in 2015 (behind Sancho and Lopes Mendes).

Dolphin Bay, in Pipa (RN)

No wonder so many dolphins choose to swim around here! Yes, they can actually be seen and the scenery is even more incredible with this unique rock wall.

Morro de São Paulo, in Cairu (BA)

Morro de São Paulo is the best known village on the wonderful Ilha de Tinharé, which is located on the coast of Bahia. The island is not far from Salvador and was even a strategic place for explorers and pirates during the colonial era.

Barra Grande, in Taipus de Fora (BA)

A little further south of Bahia, halfway between Salvador and Ilhéus, is the beautiful Taipus de Fora. Coconut trees, corals and transparent water set the tone of this peaceful and tropical place. Do you need anything else?

Ponta do Zarling, in Bombinhas (SC)

Bombinhas is considered the best place in the South Region to practice diving and Ponta do Zarling is still a hidden treasure amidst the popular beaches. There is no construction there, which makes the place an ideal spot for those seeking peace and crystal clear waters.

Calm water to enjoy in the best way “life is difficult, huh! LOL”. Arraial do Cabo is known for having enchanted the Portuguese at the time of discovery, and it’s no wonder!

Lagoa do Paraíso, in Jijoca de Jericoacoara (CE)

Located very close to the coast, Lagoa do Paraíso enchants with its water as blue as the sea. Jericoacoara is a magical and picturesque corner on the coast of Ceará, and was once considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world by the Washington Post.

Bonete, in Ilhabela (SP)

Many consider it the most beautiful beach on the coast of São Paulo and it is certainly one of the most peaceful. This is because it is only possible to get there by boat or through a trail that requires four hours of walking. But it pays off!

Toque Beach, in São Miguel dos Milagres (AL)

In 2009 the beach was chosen by the British newspaper The Guardian as the third most beautiful in Brazil, losing only to Alter do Chão (PA) – which is freshwater, which is why it did not enter our list – and Fernando de Noronha.

Lagoinha do Leste, in Florianópolis (SC)

Make no mistake, despite being located in the capital of Santa Catarina, this beach remains isolated and unknown to most tourists. By land, it is only possible to get there through trails that present some difficulty, but which are a full plate for those who love nature!

Ilha das Couves, in Ubatuba (SP)

Another hidden corner and, for that very reason, super special! The island is just 2.3 kilometers off the coast, but you can only get there by boat. To escape the chaos and relax in the crystal clear water.
