My mother-in-law told my 4 year old son that his voice sounded feminine. I was ready to defend him, but my 6-year-old daughter jumped up and said, “Sorry grandma, but my brother’s voice is normal! He is only 4 years old, and what you just said is mean!” That’s my girl! © Unknown / Reddit

My daughter was 5 years old when her father (in this case, my husband) was working on a one-year contract. One day I fell, injured my knee and had surgery. Soon after, a parent-teacher meeting was supposed to take place in the classroom on the second floor of my daughter’s school. So she asked her teacher not to send me the invitation to the meeting, as the way there would be painful for me.

She also proposed an alternative, which was to write a report on what was discussed at the meeting in the form of a letter. That is, the little one analyzed the situation and found a solution, instead of complaining about the problem. She is quite mature for her age! © Visalakshi / Quora

“Mushroom City.
Once upon a time there was a mushroom called Timothy. Autumn has arrived, the scariest time of the year. The tree was the mushroom house, and the holes in the trunk were its windows. People picked the mushrooms and put them in the baskets. The leaves turned yellow and fell off. Rabbits and squirrels shed their fur. Mushrooms had TVs. The news showed information about mushrooms taken by people. The number of live mushrooms decreased every day, they preferred to stay at home. Timóteo played, ate and did many other things. His house was well hidden, and he survived until the winter.”

When my son was a sophomore, one of his homework assignments was to write an essay about the autumn forest in no more than five sentences. Pictured above is his masterpiece which he showed me for me to check out. At first, I wanted to cross out half of the text and leave only the part that described the forest and the mushrooms… But at the same time, I was impressed with his first attempt at writing a short story. His teacher and classmates were also delighted with the story, and he got a 10. We told everyone about our little genius. After two weeks, the chapter appeared Timothy’s First Winter🇧🇷 Then the story of Three little Pigs turned into an exciting Journey to the Neighboring Kingdomand an essay about the Moon gave rise to the tale The Great Adventure🇧🇷 His class eagerly awaited each story.

So I decided to add some color to the fables and put them together in a book. For that, I found a children’s book illustrator who shaped the protagonist Timóteo and, finally, I wrote and called publishers, looking for someone who would answer my silly questions and fulfill my small request. The masterpiece has been registered and obtained an ISBN (“International Standard Book Number”)! We distribute almost every book in the edition to our friends, family and teachers. My wife and I are trying to raise an intelligent, kind and strong child. A year ago, my wife hired an English teacher for him, and I enrolled him in taekwondo classes: they have been training different types of bases, strikes and shadow movement (non-contact wrestling). One day, my son came back from school (he was a first year student) and said:

— Pedro keeps pushing and hitting me all the time.

“Then fight back. You already know how!

“I can’t, I have a good heart.”

But a while later, he couldn’t stand it and took a big bite of Pedro. Of course, that wasn’t what he had learned in taekwondo classes, but it happened. Pedro’s mother complained about our son’s behavior in a meeting with the boys’ teacher. It is worth mentioning that when we had complained about Pedro hitting our son, she ended up saying that everything was fine and they would solve their problems with each other. Well, it looks like she worked out: Pedro stopped teasing her. © Radrigosen / Pikabu

Yesterday, I got a call saying that my 13-year-old son, a polite and kind boy, had violated one of the school rules. Because of this, he would no longer be allowed to do the school camp he had been waiting for. After a long conversation, our boy realized that he had done something wrong that could have offended other students. It wasn’t a malicious act, and he had no idea he was breaking school rules.

This morning, he went to school with a big smile on his face and two sincere apologies. While the others are camping, he will spend a week studying at the school. The boy accepted his punishment as fair and treats it with understanding and a positive attitude. We all make mistakes from time to time. My son realized his mistake, accepted the consequences, and continued living positively. I’m very proud of him! © J L Van Dijk / Quora

Once, while my 2-year-old was sitting in the feeding chair, my wife and I, medieval combat instructors, were imitating a fight. Suddenly, he yelled, “Hey! Don’t hit mom. Are you okay, Daddy?” My wife and I laughed, but then I realized the little one was serious. He tried to get up and repeated menacingly, “Are you okay, Dad?” I had to agree (and remain serious) to calm him down.

He could barely walk, but he had the courage to face a 1.90 m tall adult weighing about 100 kg to protect his mother. I couldn’t be more proud! © Steve Taylor / Quora

I have two daughters and a son. Our son was born a year after our oldest daughter and didn’t get enough attention because my wife and I worked so hard and came home exhausted. He studied well, got good grades at both school and university, graduated from law school and became a partner in a law firm.

He has always been passionate about history. Starting his career in London, our boy applied to be a volunteer guide at the British Museum. Most visitors have no idea that he is a successful lawyer, and some even try to tip him. I am very proud of your museum tours! I’m probably more proud of that than of his success at the law firm. © Rukhsana Rasheed / Quora

Two years ago, I agreed with my son that if he got a grade higher than an 8 in three subjects, I would buy him a late-model iPhone. He fulfilled his end of the bargain, and the next day I brought him a cell phone. However, he asked to return it and buy two smartphones for 1,800 reais each. He kept one braces and gave the other to his friend he’s known since fifth grade.

It turns out that the girl is raised by her grandmother, they have financial difficulties, and the girl has been walking around with a broken cell phone for a year, the screen of which does not work well. Their gang plans to go camping for a few days, and my son has offered to help cover his friend’s expenses, so he’s asked for the money left over from buying the gadgets. He argued that he wanted to please the person who always gave him a hand and leave a good memory of himself, because he plans to move to study in another city. That gesture melted my heart. © aleksey3x / Pikabu

My son had serious speech problems and studied in an inclusive school, which allowed him to take tests with the help of textbooks and have a less rigid education. At a parent-teacher meeting, his teacher showed me good grades that he had gotten on the standard exams, not “taking advantage” of his advantages, since his goal was to be evaluated like the rest of the class. My 2 year old daughter participated in an Easter egg hunt at the zoo. They were just empty plastic eggshells, but lots of kids were ready to fight over them. My daughter, on the other hand, was collecting and giving eggs to others. © award07 / Reddit

My son wanted to earn money to buy a bicycle. My wife and I could have bought it, but we decided to take the opportunity and make him understand the meaning of work, money and responsibility. So we said he would have to work to get the money together. The kid picked up his old toys and took them to a garage sale in our neighborhood. He also started selling hot dogs and lemonade with our help and raised 370 reais. This amount was enough to buy a bicycle.

But the next day, he saw an ice cream machine and wanted to buy it instead of a bicycle, to start his own business and earn more money. My wife and I discussed this and agreed that we would pay the remaining amount if he would commit to selling ice cream on the street every Saturday during the holidays. Then we received an affirmative answer. So we bought the machine, and the following Saturday he started working with a bag of ice and three flavors of ice cream.

So we continued for two months, until the entire neighborhood heard about our son’s business. All the neighbors wanted to support him. Once, we even had a visit from firefighters who really enjoyed having those ice creams on a hot day. Our son’s business expanded, and he started selling ice cream not only in front of the house, but also at various events. In addition, the number of flavors has been expanded to 21! © FiveOverFive / Imgur

This is my 11-year-old son’s first attempt to create an iron object, under my supervision. He did 90% of the work himself, and I only made a few tweaks to the format. I was proud of my little one. © aiydee / Reddit

My son was 4 years old when we bought him a children’s medical kit. He was very fond of “treating” us. He walked confidently, tested our knee reflexes, took our temperature, sighed deeply, and prescribed “prescriptions.” But one day, my wife and I had a big fight. I don’t remember why, but it was something very serious. Our “doctor” looked at us and said:

– I know…
