13 Celebrities Who Turned Down Awards or Didn’t Attend Ceremonies and Why They Did

Receiving an award or recognition for a song, or for a good performance, can seem like every artist’s dream. However, several celebrities refused to attend award ceremonies and receive certain awards, as they did not represent an honor, or because they disagreed with protocols, or with the choice of winners.

O awesome.club gathered a list of celebrities who did not attend the award ceremonies, or refused their awards, and the reasons for their actions.

1. Woody Allen

Although the renowned director has received many Oscar nominations, he generally avoids attending award ceremonies. Allen calls the awards silly, demonstrating that once I accept the judgment of other people who say you deserve such recognition, you must also accept being told otherwise.
