My son is 16 years old. Like many teenagers, his room is always a mess. Recently, I was there tidying up when I noticed a folder of documents on the table. One of the documents was a plan for a startup: a volunteering center aimed at helping physically disabled and needy people. Yesterday he came home to my husband, he told him about his new project and asked for our help — financial and moral. And, you know, in that moment, all I could remember was the scared four-year-old we adopted from the orphanage. How he always hid the food while he was already living with us, and hoarded all the money and toys we gave him, thinking that one day we could just “give him back”. My brother and I went to spend a week in a cabin in the mountains. In the winter. In the first 2 days we could barely get out of bed due to the rarefied mountain air. One day, then, we decided to go for a walk after lunch, as it was sunny and snowing a little. Beautiful! We hiked further up the mountains on a hike, but all of a sudden it started to snow harder and it got dark quickly. It was already difficult to go down in those conditions, and we didn’t even know where to go. We were lost. It was then that a dog appeared – it looked at us, wagging its tail and spinning in the same place. It was this dog that took us back to the cottage. When my sister and I were little, our parents decided to sew 2 identical dresses to wear to a school party the next day. It was a dark dress: the skirt part was black and the top part was a sheer white material, but they were going to paint it black. In addition, they would have small hanging stars, made with aluminum foil, and a crown in the shape of a moon. The paint didn’t take well on the lighter material, so they wasted a lot of time repainting. It was already late at night, and my sister and I were worried that we wouldn’t have time to finish it for the next day — and they hadn’t even started making the sparklers. Our mother assured us that they would be finished, so she called some family friends to help.

Following day. Mom woke us up in the morning, turned on the light and we saw 2 beautiful dresses hanging on the hanger, with all the stars shining. My uncle was lying on the floor as they had been working all night and he fell asleep right there. Everyone was happy and laughing because of this project together. Recently, it was my grandfather’s birthday. He is a 75 year old man, ex-military, rocker and an exceptional husband and father, who carried his entire family on his shoulders and gave his 4 children a wonderful life full of opportunities. About 2 or 3 days before his birthday, my grandfather called me and asked us to make him … a children’s celebration. He wanted to eat a McDonald’s hamburger, play Xbox like his grandkids, go into a ball pit and go to the zoo. He said he was too embarrassed to tell the other kids and asked to be told that we were only going to a beer bar. striptease🇧🇷

We did everything he asked, and by the end of the night, he was in tears of happiness. He said that his childhood was not like ours, that the children didn’t have toys, because his family was very big and they didn’t have money. His father died when he was 6 years old. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone as happy as my grandfather that day. What surprised me most was that he asked to do the simplest things in the world! I will soon be 21 years old. This is already my 4th year living in another city away from my parents. Every time I go to visit them, my father meets me at the train station and takes me home. In 1995, I lost my job. I didn’t have a home of my own, my wife dumped me and left our 2 and a half year old son with me. I remembered my youth and my first specialization and decided to work as a locksmith in a factory. I could talk in an entire post about how heavy this work is, but I think you already have an idea. But I worked every day because I needed to feed my son. Not only in the main job, but also doing every odd job imaginable. The little free time I had I tried to spend with my son: we went for walks, we fished, we went canoeing down the river, we camped in the forest. When I finally got my own house, I built a play area just for him to play in, from a carousel to a small pool. And I even set up a small zoo with several animals. First the children came to play with him, then his college friends. Today, Alex is 27 years old and we have an incredible relationship.
