12 Details to make your bathroom look like a luxury hotel

There are many lucky people in the world who do not pay rent for houses and apartments, but have lived in hotels for years. It’s wonderful to always have a beautiful view from the window, regular cleaning, exquisite decoration, a large bathroom and always clean towels, isn’t it?

we, from awesome.club, we would love to spend a few years at the Hilton, but we believe it would be much better to leave our own homes so cozy and luxurious. We decided to start with the bathroom and, thus, we discovered how hotels manage to transform this ordinary room, with sink, shower and toilet, into a masterpiece.

In most hotels, you won’t see different colored bedding, towels, bathrobes and slippers. That’s because the white pieces are much more practical. They can be washed at high temperatures, they do not fade or loosen threads, always maintaining a clean and sanitized appearance.

If you don’t like the color white, replace the colored towels with ones in a light shade. To know which towel belongs to whom, just embroider the first letter of the owner’s name on each piece.

To transform the bathroom, it is not necessary to cover the walls with expensive tiles or change everything in it. The environment will look completely different if you install a modern rain shower. It gives an original look and is excellent for bathing. In addition, many manufacturers produce budget models that will not make your water bill more expensive.

Cheap, threadbare rugs can ruin the look of even the most modern bathroom. It is better to buy a new one, looking to blend it harmoniously with the environment. The usual shag rug with a rubber bottom can be replaced with other more sophisticated models, which require more care, but are definitely more worth it.

A large mirror visually enlarges the space, highlighting the design environment and making it more refined. In addition, it is very practical to see them. If there is not enough space to hang a large model, simply install one of the appropriate size for the bathroom and, next to it, an extendable magnifying mirror. Many hotels use this trick.

Unfortunately, not all bathrooms offer ocean or mountain views. And when the scenery outside the window leaves a lot to be desired, you have to be creative. To decorate the environment with style, you can choose to install opaque glass windows, use curtains with details and decorate with potted plants. Bamboo, for example, looks quite original and perfectly tolerates high humidity.

To hide imperfections in finishes and make the environment cooler, hang a semi-transparent draped curtain. However, make sure the fabric does not touch the floor or come into direct contact with water.

In place of a bunch of jars, hotels offer disposable shampoo bottles and handy dispensers. At home, we tend to have a lot more things, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be well organized. To get everything tidy, get inspired by luxury hotel rooms.

For the convenience of guests, hotels often use main and additional lighting. Most of the time, the area close to the mirror is also illuminated. However, they do not use ordinary lamps or frame lighting, but a more sophisticated method.

The simplest option is flat lamps built into the wall to the right and left of the mirror. If there is space, you can install hanging lamps with metal brackets.

The color temperature of the lights must also be chosen correctly. The higher it is, the colder the light and the more the bathroom will resemble a hospital room. Experts advise opting for lamps with a color temperature below 3,000 K.

Even the most modest room can be made cozy with the addition of bright and interesting decorations. You can buy scented soaps and a wicker towel basket, pour the shampoo into a pretty bottle, or use a fancy toothbrush holder instead of a regular cup.

Scented candles, vases with flowers or a saucer with rose petals near the sink help create a pleasant atmosphere. In some hotels, the bathroom is decorated with figurines and even antiques. If you have an exquisite decoration object, why not do the same?

Hotels try not to overload the rooms with too many details and pretentious decor: everything must be beautiful and cozy. Bathrooms are usually decorated in monochromatic colors, as they give a more luxurious and minimalist look.

The option for white furniture and the details in other colors makes the decoration harmonious and very elegant. This is the ideal choice if you have a small bathroom or low lighting. White visually expands and brightens the space.

Sophisticated hotels prefer natural tones and elements. Flashy colors and prints are used more in themed hotels, while in ordinary homes they will look inappropriate.

A mix of minimalism and rustic boho style will help keep the design neutral without looking too conservative. In many bathrooms, wooden or natural stone countertops look very beautiful, and elements made of wicker perfectly fulfill their decorative function.

If minimalism and white seem too monotonous to you, try decorating alternatives. For example, paint not just the walls, but the ceiling as well. In this case, keep the floor in a neutral color, otherwise it will look overdone. Another popular trick is to coat the bathtub in color or texture with the wall tiles and other elements of the environment.

Some creative wallpapers also look great, no matter what pattern you choose: animals, exotic landscapes, or artwork. Just don’t forget that small, symmetrical prints make spaces look smaller. If the environment is small, opt for wallpaper with large designs.

You can use fun decorations. For example, in one hotel, they implemented the ‘hunting’ theme in the bathroom, combining the wallpaper with partridge designs, with the hook to hang the mirror in the shape of a fox.

Another favorite technique of hotel establishments is to “play” with mosaics and floors. With tiles of different sizes and colors, you can create complete harmonious decorations. In this French hotel (pictured below) there are three different finishes, elegantly combined.
