First, when it’s cold we don’t sweat as much as we do when it’s hot. The fluids in the body accumulate and tend to leave the only available route: through the bladder. Also, due to the narrowing of blood vessels, the pressure rises.

Secondly, the body tries to get rid of excess fluid, to avoid having to heat it up and thus save energy. What’s the point of wasting energy on what will be eliminated?

In fact, it’s almost a numbness. Due to low temperatures, the mucous membrane cools down and the blood supply to the nose decreases, which affects the nerve receptors. In addition, dry air also irritates the mucous membranes.

It is possible to experience sensations similar to, for example, making a snowman without gloves (you will feel a slight tingling in your hands), or unexpectedly falling into cold water (you may lose feeling in your legs).

The pig has long been domesticated and has become a very popular agricultural animal. But we’ve never seen pig’s milk or cheese made from this ingredient in supermarkets, despite the fact that we get these products from goats, cows and even horses and camels.

However, in the course of the evolution of this vegetable in a tropical climate, the thorns became barbs, the purpose of which is to release excess moisture. Also, people prefer more “peaceful” plants, and with the help of selection they have changed their appearance.

When we eat pepper, this angiosperm often seems to cause a fire in our mouth. This is due to a substance contained in it: capsaicin. It interacts with the tongue receptors, through which the brain receives the signal that the body temperature is increasing. So the body’s defense is to try to cool down. Hence, the production of mucus from the nose increases and there is a strong desire to drink ice water.

However, resorting to this option is definitely not a good idea, because it will only increase the pain. To counteract the effect of capsaicin, the best solution is to drink fresh milk. Casein (a protein found in dairy products) counteracts capsaicin. If the milk is cold, it will relieve the burning sensation more quickly.
