10 Signs That May Indicate You Need to Get Out of a Relationship ASAP

A Tinder survey shows that 40% of callers millennials don’t hook up with the wrong person just to maintain a long-term relationship. They consider that, in these cases, it is better to end the relationship. And this can be a great lesson, not just for the millennials, but also for people of other generations.

O awesome.club discovered that there are certain signs that may indicate that it is time to leave your partner. Or that, yes, there is hope, but it is necessary to fight to restore complicity and love.

1. You break up and come back

On average, more than a quarter of couples break up and get back together at some point, according to research. And this can even end up becoming an endless cycle of comings and goings. Maybe you’re second-guessing yourself and deciding to give your partner a second chance, or you’re scared to move on. But it’s important to break this cycle, because this type of situation may not be good for you or your partner.

Many couples who repeatedly break up and then make up and argue more often. These people feel more insecure about the future and less satisfied with the relationship than those who do not. There are, however, some couples whose relationship becomes more stable over time. Therefore, it is important to ask yourself if it is not the case to try other ways to re-establish the relationship. Sometimes a few more tries can make all the difference.

2. You don’t like yourself

3. Your partner constantly criticizes you

It’s one thing to mention what you don’t like about your partner’s behavior, which can be a healthy attitude and even help with communication, improving both spouses. But it is totally different when your partner criticizes your personality and character.

When he does, he simply lets out his frustration with you, blaming you, not expecting you to change for the better. These people are often easily insulted and need to defend their ego. This can cause you and your partner to lose respect for each other and even look down on each other. So, if you’ve noticed that this happens frequently and there’s no way to stop it, maybe it’s better to leave that person.

4. You are afraid of being alone

Fear of being single is not a good reason to stay in a relationship, especially if there are signs that your partner is not the best for you. Studies have shown that people who are afraid of being alone will settle for any partner just to be in a relationship, no matter the quality. However, that doesn’t make the situation any better and this fear will also make it harder to get out of the toxic relationship.

5. You live in the past

If you tend to remember how much fun you had with your partner and how happy you were with them in the past, more than you enjoy your relationship in the present, that’s a red flag. Being more in love with the memory of who her partner was or what your relationship used to be like will not bring you happiness. That’s why it’s important to distinguish between what was the story of the two and what is real. Is it worth hanging on to the past?

6. Your partner is very unpredictable and intense

Some people can be kind and charming one moment, then suddenly become angry. This behavior can make you feel scared and intimidated, like you always have to walk on eggshells with your partner to avoid teasing them, even over the little things. This means that your partner is emotionally unstable.

This could be because you suffer from anxiety or depression or simply because you feel angry. These things can be resolved. But if your partner isn’t acknowledging the problem and isn’t willing to work on himself, you should choose what’s best for you and leave that relationship that leaves you scared and confused.

7. Your relationship is superficial

When you’ve just met someone, it’s understandable not to immediately open up to them or reveal your deepest secrets. Your conversations will focus on small things, like your hobbies or your job. But over time, it’s natural for you and your partner to grow close, which means you’re not afraid to show your more vulnerable side and discuss more serious topics.

If you’ve been with someone for a long time and you haven’t reached that stage yet, this could be a sign that your partner isn’t right for you. It could also mean that he feels insecure or has opened up to someone in the past and been rejected. But, if you constantly show him that you want to create a deeper connection and he doesn’t respond in the same way, it could be a sign that he’s not the right person for your life.

8. Your relationship is one-sided

If your partner only wants to be with you when they need you, for example when they’ve had a bad day at work or when they’re having other problems, that’s not a good sign. He might just be using you for attention, even though he doesn’t care what you think or feel. And if you’re constantly doing all the work in the relationship, supporting your partner when they don’t, that’s probably a sign that you’re stuck in a toxic relationship.

9. Your partner always says he’s going to leave you

If your partner threatens to leave you, for example during fights, or when he can’t get you to do what he wants, this could be a form of psychological manipulation. He is using his fear of abandonment to control her. This controlling behavior can spill over into different areas of your life, so it’s important to recognize it and stop it before you get hurt.

10. You don’t want to share good news with your partner

If something positive has happened in your life that you don’t even think about sharing with your partner, it could be a sign that your relationship is in trouble. It could mean that you feel your happiness is irrelevant to him because your date doesn’t care about you as much as he used to. And if that’s true, and he doesn’t genuinely encourage you or feel happy when you succeed, then it may be time to leave.

Do you recognize any of these signs in your past relationships? How did you decide it was time to break up?
