The Sun and the Essence of Love |

Love: the most beautiful word in the world wants to translate the untranslatable. Friend of joy and beauty, it overcomes contentment and appearance. Owner of the best feelings, she is confused with passion and possession, with the shudder of the senses and the intricacies of coexistence. Love is for everyone; love is for few. Inside his cornucopia* fits almost everything, including the illusion of loving and feeling loved. After all, does true love exist? It seems that the order of the factors changes the product. We can experience true love, but we don’t always find “true love”. True love, and that’s a fact, is felt for the children, even if some stories say otherwise. But they are exceptions confirming the rule. Love to the parents, to the great and few friends, to the pet.

As for the said and repeated “true love”, this continues to be successful in the cinema, but many people still think that it does not appear frequently in the relationships of the 21st century. And those who are happy with their true love don’t usually put the news in the newspapers. In the Tarot perspective, love is spoken of through three cards:

“The Lovers” or “The Lover” – Arcanum VI “Temperance” – Arcanum XIV “The Sun” – Arcanum XIX

In the letter “Os Enamorados” passion prevails, the moment of enchantment. “The Temperance” represents the phase of intimacy, in which relationships deepen or dissolve, while “The Sun” suggests perfect love. About the first two the matter is abundant. But what would this sun-love be like?

Amor-sol carries in itself the seeds of charm and intimacy, but does not dwell on the soap opera of deceptions, nor on the details of the bedroom. It’s love in a major octave. The disappointments of enchantment do not affect him, the hardships of intimacy do not stain him. Sun love flirts with friendship, it is a love in trust. It doesn’t know jealousy, only care. It does not have the word betrayal in its lexicon, as it does not presuppose its possibility. He does not know lies, because he lives in the innocence of a sacred garden. Sun love is not a victim of time because what animates it is always the soul of a child. Sun-love is the essence of love. There are no words that identify it, there is no text that contains it. It is only possible to say in prose about what he “is not”.

But then you would say to me: “ah I know, the old talk of once upon a time with a happy ending, romantic comedy café au lait”. None of that exists: we are flesh and blood, pain and passion, wind and storm. Yes, sun-love is a gift almost never experienced in ordinary contacts. Sun-love is divine love and is tied neither to the gods nor to a God. But we, ladies and gentlemen, are their great translators. And if we imagine him as we can imagine anything and everything, his idea feeds and warms us. And so it has been generation after generation.
