Young Mirielen wore 56 and decided to change her life after suffering from obesity and spending her childhood being a victim of bullying. She told in an interview that before the decision to take a turn, she tried to forget the problems with the use of drugs and alcohol. But with the help of her family, in less than a year, she changed her diet and started exercising. Every effort made her lose 50 kilos and manage to wear 36.

José Eduardo Flores says that for 3 years he was homeless and addicted to drugs. He reached rock bottom, but, with the help of a church campaign, he decided to change his life and return to his family. Today, he works as a missionary bringing love and food to other homeless people, in an attempt to rescue them, just as he received help years ago.

Geraldo Rufino used to pick up recyclables along with his brothers in the Butantã neighborhood of São Paulo. At the age of 13 he started working in a company and soon became a director. He started renting trucks and found that the parts business was profitable with little competition. With that idea, he opened a parts store and today gives lectures on how he managed to succeed in life.

Eliane Nóbrega is a hard-working Northeastern woman who got married young and who, like so many other Northeasterners, moved to São Paulo to try for a better life. In the beginning, she was a day laborer and worked for a long time in a family home, until she had the idea of ​​opening a demolition company. Today, she owns a large company and has already done important work in the state, such as the Port of Santos and the Latin America Memorial, an icon of the city of São Paulo.

Luzia Costa worked at the family pizzeria that ended up going bankrupt. In the face of this, she decided to sell sweets to support her son. Until the city hall of Roseira (in the interior of São Paulo), where she lived, offered a free course in aesthetics. Luzia, who already worked in the business, found in this the way out to change her life. She started alone and soon her idea became a franchise that today has 187 stores in Brazil and branches in Bolivia and Argentina.

The Oliveira brothers, whose weight loss was accompanied by a TV program, underwent surgery in 2009 and together they lost more than 200 kilos. Marcelo reached 213 kilos and even lost his job. He didn’t even have the strength to walk. Today he lives a normal life, having lost 107 kilos. Marcio, who weighed 223 kilos, after a lot of effort, lost 112 kilos.

Eloi D’Avila was homeless in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. At age 12, he kept a car in front of a hotel in Copacabana, in the Fluminense capital. It was then that he got a job at a travel agency where he worked during the day and slept at night. Disciplined, he was able to save money and, in 1974, opened his first store selling air tickets, owned by a Paraguayan company. Today, his company, Flytour, has over 3,000 employees and 220 stores.

Alex Lemos and Milene Rangel had the bad surprise of being fired on the same day and almost at the same time. After thinking a lot, they decided to undertake and started taking courses to create their own company. He studied business management and she went to specialize in confectionery. They started by offering their products on social media. Today, they own a successful candy and cake shop.

The boy who started selling towels at traffic lights, with the money he saved, bought 15 cell phone cases and got a space at a street vendor in Chapecó (SC). In the same week, he managed to sell his small stock and started buying more merchandise. He opened the first store “Mundo das capas” and today has his own production and almost 100 branches in the city of Santa Catarina and in the region.

Lívia Sarturato lives, today, a happy phase. But life used to be much more difficult. She was fired from a multinational when she was pregnant. But she didn’t give up the fight. So, she decided to do something apparently simple: sell coxinhas and pot cakes. Five years after starting to work in the business, today she owns a company that organizes parties and also works at home. In all, she makes about 100 thousand reais a month.
