Some men are better than others. Yes, we are all equal human beings, however we can easily argue that some men are better people than other men.

An even easier argument to make is that some men are clearly better suited to be love partners than others. Some men just weren’t made for this.

All people develop over time, learning and adapting different characteristics over years and years of trial and error. There are too many characteristics that make a man a great man for a woman to have by her side.

Here are 10 traits that, in my opinion, if you find in a man proves he truly loves you:

1. When he looks at you, he really looks at you.

If a man looks straight into your eyes, creating an invisible attraction that creates a bond between the two of you, then he’s not really looking at you; he is looking into your soul.

He is trying to get a glimpse of the person who remains hidden behind your beautiful eyes – the “me” that you are trying to keep only in yourself. He’s trying to find that essence that makes you unique; he’s looking to glimpse your soul, but more than that… he’s trying to introduce your soul to his.

2. He is a kind man, but it is not an easy task.

There are men who are overly aggressive, who try to position themselves above everyone else. There are also weak-willed men who avoid all effort and confrontation. You better stay away from both of these types of men.

There is a type of man who manages to combine the strengths of both power and sympathy. These men are kind at heart, yet brutal in battle. They don’t start fights, but they will finish them. That’s the kind of man you deserve, because he’s the kind of man wise enough to decide and choose the best of both strength and compassion.

3. He has incredibly ambitious dreams.

What woman doesn’t want a dreamer who is both realistic and humble? She is probably the ideal makeup of any man – a man who wants the stars but understands he can only have the moon.

However, he does not allow achievement to impede his ambitions, nor does he allow his successes to explode his ego. This type of man will never stop doing his best to make your life better, but he won’t promise you things he can’t deliver.

4. He knows how to cook and does it for you.

Let’s be honest… a man who can cook is way too sexy. More than being sensual, a man who knows how to cook and who often prepares his meals tends to eat healthily and tends to be healthier himself.

A healthy partner is a great partner for obvious reasons.

5. He’s brilliant but not cocky – well, a little cocky, but not too cocky.

If you’ve found an intelligent, wise, decisive man, keep him close. As long as you’re not too cocky, of course. A little confidence is very attractive – just like women.

We are programmed to appreciate strength in any aspect or shape. However, if he is too cocky, then watch out. These men tend to vacillate between being bearably arrogant or complete suckers. Unfortunately, the smartest tend to be the stupidest most of the time.

6. He has an amazing ability to make you smile.

If you have a man who doesn’t make you smile then you should end the relationship right now. To be honest, you shouldn’t even have gotten into a relationship like that. The more he can make you tremble with excitement, the more he deserves you.

7. He says he loves you even though he doesn’t need to – you can feel that he loves you.

Words are fantastic. However, they fall short compared to stocks. Words, ideas, concepts, intentions… are all big and useful at the right time. However, actions are and always have been the most powerful forces on the planet.

It’s great when your man says he loves you because you certainly love to hear that; we all like it. However, if his actions fall short of his words and he says he loves you but doesn’t feel it, then he doesn’t love you the way you deserve. You cannot allow yourself to be satisfied with that.

8. He is willing to lose an argument in favor of keeping the peace.

Couples argue. Any couple that ever existed had their share of arguments. People argue because they believe they are right or simply because they want to be right so they can feel better, and therefore they argue to achieve that sense of fairness.

Unfortunately, when it comes to arguments, if one person is right then the other has to be wrong. You deserve a man who doesn’t want you to feel wrong – at least not when an argument is really more a matter of opinion.

9. Whenever you need help, he will always offer to help you.

Again, the importance of your actions cannot be stressed enough. Men are very simple when it comes to loving someone – what you see is basically what they feel. When they’re there for you, when they take care of you and do everything to make you happy, they love you.

You are in your man’s head all the time because he loves you. He will do just about anything for you and won’t think twice about helping you in times of need.

10. Without you, he feels lost; you became a part of it.

When a man loves a woman, he wants a piece of her that he can call his own. It’s not his body, but his mind. It’s the way she thinks, the things she does, the way she does them. What she likes and doesn’t like. What she believes to be important and what she believes to be trivial.

When a man loves a woman, he regards those little parts of her as his own. It changes the way he thinks and how he sees the world.

What is important to her becomes important to him. The way she does certain things becomes the way he does certain things. Both of you let go of a part of you and adapt to the other’s habits.

The man in your life is the man who loves you so much that he lets parts of him slip away just to make room for parts of you.
