With one click, the site shows the name, telephone and e-mail of Brazilians

If you thought that your personal data was private and safe, you can revise that thought: in recent days, information has started to circulate on social networks that a site called Telephone.Ninja would provide data such as telephone number, e-mail and address of any person in Brazil – just inform their full name.

O MofWoman did some tests with the tool and came across a lot of correct, but outdated information – true, but old, telephone numbers and addresses. In some cases, the website showed more than one phone number and more than one address.

The service offered by the site is similar to that offered by old phone books, where you could look up the number of people by the name of the line holder. Those who are older certainly remember the books with thousands of pages, as well as the traditional yellow pages, which cataloged commerce and services.

The site explains that there are ways to delete your data from the base: the first step is to enter the page you want to remove and click on the link in the footer, where it says “Request privacy request and not display data on this page”.

However, they warn that they update the site constantly, using data from telephone operators. To ensure that your data is not passed on – to this site or elsewhere – you should contact your operator and ask them not to disclose your data.
