Where are you going?

Whether we like it or not, life is a constant decision-making process. The future of events depends, to a large extent, on our actions. Even when we do nothing, we are making a decision: to remain stationary. Thus, Knowing where you are going helps you forge your identity and your goals.

Do you live in automatic?

The first thing you have to ask yourself is what degree of involvement you have with yourself. Many times daily obligations consume all our time and mental energy and we feel that there is no room for maneuver.. After taking care of work, studies, family and social commitments, there are no hours in the day to dedicate to yourself.

In this way we get used to living automatically, complying with schedules and agendas and without even asking ourselves if what we are doing is what we want to do. Maybe you don’t feel like going to dinner on Saturday, maybe you’d rather spend the night reading a book. But sometimes, without realizing it, we enter a dynamic in which we get used to not listening to each other.

Stop and reflect, stop living like an automaton. Come into real contact with the activities you do, with the people you talk to, with the environments that surround you. Be aware of each step you take and analyze the reasons why you are taking it.

Do you want or should you?

One of the aspects that most distance us from our own direction are impositions. “I must get good grades on the exam”, “I have to go visit my friend”, “I need to change the way I dress”. This way of approaching reality leaves us at the expense of other people’s norms and opinions that have nothing to do with our own goal.

I don’t have to get good grades on the exam, I want to get them so I can practice this profession that I like so much.. I don’t have to visit my friend, I’m going to visit her because I want to share time with her. I don’t need to change my clothes, because I don’t need to please anyone but myself.

This simple change of focus and language brings us much closer to our true desires. And, above all, it puts us in the mood to design our actions based on what we want to achieve. Remember, If you are going to do something, find a personal motivation that drives you to do it, but never act out of obligation.

Where are you going?

Now we have begun to live and act consciously and we have freed ourselves from foreign impositions. However, I still don’t know where I want to go. This is a situation that occurs quite frequently. Once we feel free to decide, we face the reality that we don’t know what we want for ourselves.

This happens because our mind is full of limitations and prevents us from believing that something totally different is possible for us. “I don’t have enough money to do this”, “I’m not charismatic or talented enough”, “it’s too late”. In this case the miracle question can help us: imagine that tomorrow you wake up and, by a miracle, all your problems have disappeared. What could you notice it in?What would be different in your life?

This approach frees us from inhibitions and brings us closer to the reality that we really want. From here we can establish certain objectives in the different areas of our life.. And to achieve them, the last step is to establish a plan.

Dividing the path into small goals will make the goal you are heading towards not seem so far away.. Every morning when we wake up we will be clear about where we are going and what the steps are to get there. Therefore, do not hesitate, you too can change the course of your life.
