What the participants of “A Ilha” were like before the controversial reality show

Born in Recife, Pernambuco, Nadja was once married to singer D’Black. Her fame, however, came after she was expelled from the show A Fazenda, and in the current show the disagreements started right in the second episode.

Jaime Young-Lae Cho, better known as Pyong Lee, had his first television appearance in 2009 on the Silvio Santos Program. From then on, the doors opened and he appeared in several programs such as Domingão do Faustão, Hebe, Eliana, among others. Her participation in the program A Ilha was much talked about, because it resulted in the end of her marriage.

Laura won with her ex-husband, Jorge Souza, the reality show Power Couple Brasil, and they earned about 697 thousand reais accumulated during the program. She confessed that she felt judged due to her career time in the media being shorter than the other participants.

“People would look at me and ask, ‘Who is she? What does she do?’ Right away they looked at me and pre-judged me.”

Born in Argentina and raised in Brazil, Antonela Avellaneda participated in Big Brother Brasil 4 and was the second foreign participant in the program. Her romantic involvements tend to be talked about, and the blonde has already won the hearts of many heartthrobs, such as Cauã Reymond and Junior, Sandy’s brother.

“I was interviewing new singers, introducing new bands, and we called Junior. There was a joke to give Antonela a kiss, and we demos! Then he invited me to a show with his new band, and I went. It didn’t work out because our schedules didn’t match. I traveled a lot, so did he, but it was good,” he said.

Directly from Brasília, Any Borges gained prominence in two seasons of De Férias com o Ex due to her outstanding personality and the constant struggle for the place of women in society. Any has a son and has worked in different fields, until discovering that her place was in music.

Carioca, Claudinho also participated in the program De Férias com o Ex. Despite being an administrator and entrepreneur, his participation in the programs leveraged his financial and professional life. Her Instagram profile already has more than 360,000 followers.

“A lot of people don’t see it as a job, but that’s what Instagram is today. I am a businessman, I have businesses, and the program helped a lot in that, both in my business, for the visibility, and for having gained a new opportunity”, he commented.

Claudinei Alexandre Pires, better known as Dinei, was a Corinthians player and winner of three Brazilian championships. He participated twice in the reality show A Fazenda, but his trademark was when, in a moment of relaxation, he wore women’s clothes to amuse pedestrians.

Lucas started his career on the Pânico show, in which he got his nickname: he would pretend to take selfies with people and stay still, leaving everyone confused by the approach. He has already presented the program Game Of Compras and participated in Farm 12.

Matheus Bento de Souza was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Owner of a YouTube channel in which he publishes his music videos and portrays his humble daily life with his mother, Dona Gisele, who is very successful for her outstanding personality. With more than three million followers on Instagram, Matheus says that the success was sudden.

“I worked at the street vendor and when I got home, I started filming naturally playing with my mother. When I put it on my WhatsApp status, it exploded. I spoke to my DJ, who is now my manager, and he told me to play on Twitter. One night, I had 358 followers. In the other, with 10 thousand”, he said.

Influencer, is also known for completing the trio of MC Loma with her sister Mariely, in which she sings and dances. As it is her first program, the singer promised to avoid her fears as much as possible, but she will not avoid confusion.

Born in São Paulo, Nanah is a singer, influencer and businesswoman. She started singing as a child in the churches she attended and was backing vocalist for her ex-husband Rodriguinho. She released her first solo album in 2015 and her success has never stopped.

He began his success in the children’s telenovela Carrossel, with the character Daniel Zapata. After growing up, he was quoted to be one of the participants in A Fazenda 12, but the actor gave up to invest in his singing career and sign a contract with the funk producer KondZilla. His hit “Avisa Elas” was released and reached the mark of more than one million views on YouTube.

Valesca dos Santos was the lead singer of a funk group and was responsible for spreading funk carioca throughout Brazil. She is no newbie when it comes to reality shows: she has participated in A Fazenda, Dança dos Famosos, Super Chef Celebridades, among others. She said she is determined to win the current show.

“I’m going to win, because I came determined for it”, said Valesca.

The presenter of the program could not be left out of this one, as she is also an expert when it comes to reality. That’s because in addition to having already commanded Game dos Clones, Made In Japan, and Programa da Sabrina, she was a participant in Big Brother Brazil in 2003, and won her deserved place on the small screen.
