What is ‘two mimir’?

The internet is usually a horrible place, but from time to time it gives us moments full of tenderness that, of course, are usually related to kittens.

Such is the case of ‘two mimir’a beautiful misunderstanding between a Japanese illustrator and her Spanish-speaking followers that led to the creation of a beautiful illustration and a very charming meme.

Here we explain what it is, where it came from and what it means.

Where did ‘two mimir’ come from?

The Japanese illustrator Dr. Morickywho makes very cute drawings of various animals on his Twitter account, published on June 9 an image of a small kitten (or bunny?) in bed, ready to sleep.

Among the responses to the image, a Spanish-speaking follower responded: ‘A mimir,’ which means go to sleep, a phrase used especially with young children.

The illustrator asked what this meant, and although they answered her correctly, she was left with the idea that ‘A’ was like ‘UN’ in English, while mimir was the drawing.

Where did ‘two mimir’ come from?

A week after this, the illustrator published a new image on her account that said ‘Two Mimir’, that is, ‘two mimir’. And the Hispanic internet went crazy with tenderness.

The responses to her have been very affectionate and the beautiful moment, in addition to making 2020 a little more bearable, caused many memes.

She already responded: “I received a lot of mimirs, love and glitter. Thank you.”
