What can today’s children learn from Smilingüido and the ants?

Who has never heard of Smilingüido? He and his true allies, the ants, are figures widely used in learning values. This famous gang started in 1980 and conquered many generations with their movies, comics and TV series.

Many of her stories talk about the happiness of sharing, which is a natural act for children. They feel good about sharing their lunch break from school, playing with friends and sharing what they have. Being encouraged to this practice from a young age, their adult lives will be much easier.

Every year during the summer, the ants work tirelessly to get reserves for the winter. They organize and plan because, naturally, they know that stable time will run out. For us (humans) to carry out a plan, even if it is simple, means to increase the possibilities of a goal to be achieved.

Many may feel that because they are small, they are fragile; but whoever thinks so is greatly mistaken. They are able to carry and lift, over enormous distances, objects heavier than themselves.

If one happens to be unable to transport, there will always be a companion to help. They work together because they have the same objective: to survive.

You can often get annoyed when you forget a sugary spoon in the sink and soon it’s full of ants. If you can notice, first a little ant appears, then it leaves, communicates with the others and returns with several others. They are exposed to various dangers and obstacles, but even so, they remain determined in their focus and objective, which is to bring food to the anthill.

It is necessary for them to have daily experiences so that they remain generous and do not become individualists. Share and share your belongings, for example, or help a friend get up when they fall. In the anthill, each one has a function, but they all have the same value.

For example: if two children needed to share a pie, you could ask one to cut a slice and the other to distribute. That way, they can learn how sharing roles can be fair for everyone.

The willingness and ability of these tiny insects to keep their group safe is stunning. They build their houses, look for their food, defend themselves and are always willing to work. They are true restless beings.
