What a man literally thinks when he’s in love with you

Understanding what men think, especially when it comes to something as deep and complex as falling in love, can be downright complex.

Since ancient times, writers around the world have struggled to capture exactly what it’s like to fall in love.

Of course, some of the greats like William Shakespeare and Pablo Neruda came close with their incredibly romantic works, but in general, even the greatest poets on planet earth will say the following: it is almost impossible to describe what it is like and what thoughts flow through a passionate mind.

How can such a universal experience be so difficult to describe? Is it because love makes us fools? Is it because when we’re in love it’s really hard to bother thinking about anything else, even how to use words correctly?

I’m kidding about the reasons why it’s so hard to describe the thoughts and feelings you have when you’re falling in love, but the fact is, it’s nearly impossible to do so.

It’s something like asking someone to describe the taste of water. It can’t be done, and yet, it’s something you know for sure once you’ve proved it for yourself.

In my opinion, if you’ve ever wondered if you’re falling in love or not, you are probably not. While describing the experience can be quite challenging, I believe that if you have to ask yourself whether or not it’s love, it most likely isn’t.

The truth is that men fall in love with the same frequency and intensity as women. Unsurprisingly, this means that men also have their own experiences with trying to explain what it’s like to fall in love.

While no man’s description is ever exactly like another’s, the fact remains that if they go out of their way to describe their thoughts and feelings to another person, they are proving just how much the man or woman in question means to them, and you You don’t need to be a scholar to understand this!

If you doubt me, check out what the site men reddit had to say when a woman posted this question on the AskMen subreddit: “What is it like to fall in love? How do you feel? What things do you do? What kind of things do you think about when you fall in love?”

Here’s what a man thinks (literally) when he’s in love with you:

1. It’s cinematic.

“It’s like someone pushed a button and now you’re in a movie. Everything is about her, everything you see, the time of year is (for some reason) so appropriate for this moment in the relationship. The music on the radio isn’t just a song, it’s its soundtrack. You feel like you’re falling apart inside. And you want to devour her like a savage. ”

2. It’s impressive in the best possible way.

“To be anxious, but in a good way. Think about her before you think about yourself.”

3. It’s Pavlovian (sort of).

“Falling in love is like, well, there’s a button in front of you that says, ‘Push this for free cookies.’ But every time you press it, a bird poops on your head, but you keep pressing it, because you really want a cookie.

And once every 100 times you get a cookie. And it’s the best cookie you’ve ever had. And while you’re eating, you realize that you’re willingly going to poop 99 more times in hopes of getting another cookie.”

4. It’s always on your mind.

“For me, I can’t stop thinking about her. It’s not like a passion, but in my daily life it appears. Like when I go to the store and I’m buying whatever I’m going to eat, I think about what she would like, I tend to think about her in the morning when I’m getting ready and at night before bed.

5. It’s great, but it’s scary.

“It’s absolutely horrible. It feels so good, so right, but it feels so tenuous, like the real universe is trying to stop it from happening. You walk on eggshells because you don’t want to cause a disaster.”

6. Is it like… a notebook?

“It’s like when you buy a new laptop. At first everything runs so smoothly, there is no clutter anywhere on the hard drive, it is shiny and clean, you don’t have a ton of stuff on your desk, you learn new shortcuts and features on how to use it every day.

So you slowly start to familiarize yourself with it. You start installing some programs that you know can be harmful to your computer, you save stuff you’ll never use on your desktop, maybe you finally take the protective plastic cover off your screen. I mean, it gets in the way a lot, right? But it’s still okay. Your computer works fine for now.

Then comes the stage where your notebook is slower than a hamster, it overheats like crazy and shuts down at the most inopportune moments. The software is all buggy because you have a ton of stuff installed on it. So you think about buying a new one. But you find that if you fix them, you’ll stay with him for a long time because you like him.

7. It’s literally like falling.

“It’s like falling into a well.”

8. is intense.

“It’s great. Exciting. Looking back, it goes by way too fast. It becomes a bit of a blur. It’s a happy, intense time where you’re very distracted and probably neglecting other parts of your life – but you don’t care.”

9. It’s passionately devastating.

“I’ve only really been in love twice in my life. The feeling is indescribable. It’s like being constantly in a warm bed in the middle of a snowstorm. The feelings of joy, pleasure, anxiety and hope are overwhelming. But in a good way. It fills that hole in your soul and you wish it would last forever.”

10. Makes you feel strong and ready for anything.

“Looking back, when I was seriously dating my wife for marriage purposes, I was willing to fight and do anything for her.”

12. It’s never the same.

“It’s different every moment.”

13. It’s a chemistry trick.

“It’s nature’s way of becoming rich in chemicals. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long.”

14. It is revealing.

“For me, falling in love has always been a series of accomplishments, not a process. Getting to know her better, realizing you’ve been talking for 8 hours – she’s really nice. Waking up and she’s the first thing on my mind – I really like this girl so much, I almost go into a head-on collision and at first thought: she’s fallen in love somewhere in there.

I’m always blind to the actual intervening steps, and the feeling never seems to change. I just realize it’s looking back.”

15. It’s something you know when it happens.

“If you’ve ever been fishing off a pier, you sometimes wonder ‘was it a bite’ after a small amount of turbulence in your rod. So when you have a bite, there is no doubt about it.”
