We Tested 15 Internet Beauty Tricks to Find Out What Really Works

Girls do everything to look beautiful, and these days the Internet has turned into their main assistant. On websites, social networks and video channels, you can find tips of any kind. Suggestions range from using flatware as a makeup application device to using dish sponges to help evenly distribute foundation.

O incredible.club decided to invite a model to test on “‘own skin’ if these beauty tips, sometimes very strange and unusual, are really good and work. You can see the results of the experiment here, but we advance that many of the suggestions are really good.

1. The contouring Helps visually enlarge the cervix

What some bloggers recommend: to contour the décolleté zone, some sites advise using creamy and dense textures. If everything is done correctly, they promise a visual increase in the volume of the cervix.

How it is in reality: honestly, this trick is extremely dodgy. First, the toners will stain all your clothes, and secondly, on a hot day there will be no trace of them. Such a trick can be useful for a photo shoot, but, in our opinion, it is much easier to put on a bra to increase the volume of the bust.

2. Make curls with the help of a pencil

What some bloggers recommend: if you don’t have babyliss for hair or special tweezers to make small curls, use a flat iron and a regular pencil. Some recommend replacing the pencil with a wand (if you have one) to make the curls a little bigger.

How it is in reality: the trick really works! The hardest thing is carefully wrapping it around the pencil and maintaining this fragile construction. Then we take the plank and press the pencil for 30 to 40 seconds. The curls came out well defined, in a beautiful way. The fact, however, is that it will be much more convenient if someone can help you.

3. The comb will not get static electricity if you rub it on a napkin

What some bloggers recommend: if the plastic comb constantly gets electricity, then you need to wipe it with a damp napkin. If it is a brush, then you can wrap it in a napkin, having previously dried it.

How it is in reality: it works. Wet washcloths made of synthetic material are good at eliminating static electricity. But in order to avoid such an outcome all the time, it is better to choose wooden models and forget about plastic combs forever.

4. The eyelash curler must be heated to work better

What some bloggers recommend: if the rubber of the eyelash curler has become hard, you should heat it with the hot air of a dryer.

How it is in reality: does not work. We took an eyelash curler with the rubber hardened and maybe the hot air made it a little softer, even helping to curl the lashes. But it is better to replace it with a new one for safety reasons, or simply change the rubber. Some models sometimes come with extra rubbers for replacement.

5. You can make a flat brush using an ordinary one.

What some bloggers recommend: for makeup many types of brushes are needed. To save money, you can convert an ordinary soft brush into a flat flat brush with the help of hairpins.

How it is in reality: the trick works, but we don’t like it. Frankly, it’s hard to get the clamp on the brush, so it’s a lot of work for little result. If you are a makeup artist or a professional makeup artist, it is easier to buy a special brush.

6. Hairspray will help you to correct your eyebrows

What some bloggers recommend: if you don’t have a brow gel on hand or you need to ‘lift’ your brows, you can spray the brush with hairspray and then set your brows properly.

How it is in reality: it works! It seems that the method helps to tame even the most unruly hairs and manages to give absolutely any shape. It’s true that the hair gets stiff and maybe it doesn’t look as pretty on every girl.

7. You can make lipstick using vaseline and eyeshadow

What some bloggers recommend: It’s very simple: mix a little vaseline and eyeshadow (you can also use dry blush) and apply it to your lips.

How it is in reality: it works. Of course, the result is not so pretty, in addition to the texture of the product being a bit heavy. But to achieve a change in makeup, this advice is quite useful.

8. A bobby pin will help you to outline your eyes

What some bloggers recommend: eyeliner is a headache. Some ‘artists’ created the following trick: mark the tip of the eyes using a bobby pin. The result must be carefully colored, but you need to draw the lines above the upper eyelids.

How it is in reality: it works, but there are drawbacks. The drawing does not come out right away, it takes several tries before everything is perfect. Also, the shape of the end of the outlined eye cannot be changed and does not look good on all types of faces. Well, we’re going to have to outline without the help of anything, just the brush.

9. Baby powder can be used to ‘brighten’ and remove shine from your face

What some bloggers recommend: a little baby powder will hide the shine and ‘enhance’ the necessary areas.

How it is in reality: it works, but it has many disadvantages. Powders aren’t made for makeup, and we don’t recommend using this trick often. It is better to avoid using talcum powder on dry skin, although even oily skin will not feel unpleasant. In addition, the skin can discolor a lot and simply not match the tone of your face. Serves in exceptional cases for photo shoots or for stage use.

10. It is better to dry your hair with a cotton T-shirt

What some bloggers recommend: supposedly, soft cotton is much more delicate than a rough towel, and does not damage the structure of the hair. And it’s good for drying your hair.

How it is in reality: We’re not going to argue about the harm or benefits of towel drying your hair, but we’ll put the trick to the test. It really works. The t-shirt absorbs moisture well (it’s important to use 100% cotton), perhaps even faster than a regular towel. We wouldn’t change towels for T-shirts, but for example, during a trip, this trick can be very useful.

11. To prevent the nail polish from drying out, the neck of the bottle must be lubricated with petroleum jelly

What some bloggers recommend: if nail polishes are used very often, they dry faster. Vaseline prevents the neck of the glass from drying out and makes it open easily.

How it is in reality: this trick works. The necks of the flasks must be lubricated from the inside and it is better to do this right after purchase, so as not to face this problem again.

12. Dry pencil can be restored if it is heated in a fire.

13. Baby powder will make your lashes thicker and fuller

What some bloggers recommend: to add volume and density to eyelashes, baby powder will do. It is necessary to apply a moderate amount to the eyelashes, and then carefully paint them with mascara.

How it is in reality: it works. If you do it carefully and don’t overuse the powders, there will be no lumps and the eyelashes will be even thicker. True, the result depends on the mask, or rather the brush: if you choose a good tool, then powders are not needed.

14. The beauty sponge can be replaced with an ordinary dishwashing sponge

What some bloggers recommend: beauty sponges are not that cheap. On the Internet, it is advisable to try to replace them with a regular dishwashing sponge: apply the foundation to your face, then use the sponge to gently spread it.

How it is in reality: it works, but we don’t advise it. You can apply cream foundation this way. But sponges tend to be very porous, so they will absorb most of the cosmetic. Also, the materials for making sponges are not the same as those used for beauty sponges, so it’s not possible to know how your skin will react.

15. A spoon will help you create the effect smokey eyes

What some bloggers recommend: it’s not so simple to blur the shadows to achieve the effect smokey eyes🇧🇷 It is advisable to apply a regular spoon, and then run a brush with shadows along its edge.

How it is in reality: does not work. It’s very uncomfortable to do eye makeup this way: the line comes out uneven or too defined, you can’t see the result until you remove the spoon.
