According to a survey by Princeton University (USA), it is through the face that, in milliseconds, people form impressions about us, without even having spoken to us.

According to Philip Hallawell, an artist who relates the fundamentals of visual language to psychology, temperaments and how the brain perceives and processes images, “human beings find aesthetically beautiful that which expresses balance, harmony, well-being and security. Education, media, culture influence the aesthetic sense, but there is strong evidence that certain aspects and modes of expression are common to all people, regardless of race, culture or historical period.” This is what shows, for example, a review of research on the subject made by the image consulting company Qoves Studio. In one of them, which studied isolated indigenous communities, it was concluded that the interpretation of some traits is independent of media influences. For example, because they resemble a baby’s face shape, people with a flatter face tend to be read as more innocent.
