Whenever I passed by the gym room and saw those people jumping madly, with all the enthusiasm in the world, on a mini-trampoline, I thought that they must be dealing with another species of human beings.

Imagine jumping repeatedly for 45 minutes and still alive at the end? To me it seemed inconceivable. And precisely for that reason I decided to try the Jump class, as I’ll tell you below.

But first, do you know the advantages of this modality?

First of all, I feel obliged to clarify:

The class starts with a warm-up that also serves to familiarize you with the trampoline. In it you do some dynamic exercises, like joining the right foot to the left and then the left to the right, in the rhythm of the music. Jumps are not part of the routine yet, so all is well on the front.

Then the class begins, which is separated into blocks, divided by songs. Exercises range from taking your legs back, one at a time, as if you were running a race trying to bring your heels to your butt; running in place with high knees; to the jumps themselves.

But as scary as all this may be, you don’t have to do it at the pace of other students. Of course, the higher you bring your knees up in jumps, the more you’ll activate your glutes — and some students take great advantage of doing this — but if you don’t have the strength or confidence to do this yet, it’s okay to do more jumps.” discreet”, as I did.

The 45 minutes go by relatively quickly because the class is so well-paced, so it’s like you’re in a dance class, following the steps of the teacher in front of you to the beat of the songs — which reminds me: coordination is something you will end up working a lot in this class, to keep up with the instructor’s steps.
