to my future love

I’m not the one you’ll find on a night out in line at a club, in high heels. I’d rather walk around in sneakers or flip flops, listen to my favorite songs on Spotify and not have to scream for someone to hear me.

I’m not the one who will send you statements on social media with those 0.6, etc remembering the months or years of dating. I’m bad with numbers. But you will be in my poems and lines, you will be my most beautiful rhymes and theme of my conversations with God.

I won’t fill you with surprises, I won’t do grandiose things, declarations in a crowded mall, after all, the greatest proof of love was made in the silence of the cross, but I can make you a coffee, bring you a stroganoff pizza or risk a recipe new.

I don’t want you to take me to the hippest restaurants in town, I’m a fan of playing video games, walking around the city parks (yes, I love nature), I want to play on the swings and eat at that “podrão” close to home. I want to emotionally love you as you are and spiritually strengthen you.

I’m going to talk nonsense to you, but I’ll also be serious, I like to philosophize and reflect, I like to make fun and I don’t mind being made fun of, I want to be your best friend and life partner, the one who spends most of the time smiling in face and wants to give you a smile for you to use for the rest of your life.

I will teach you to dream again, I will dry your tears and I will support you in your life goals, because long before it was love it was prayer.

I know that not everything will be a bed of roses, I have my problems and I know that you have yours too. But I don’t mind accepting your flaws and your thoughtless acts, I believe that before saying that you love someone you have to forgive them many times before, I promise to pray for you and with you and so together we seek the best solution. I promise to renounce my “wants” and seek God’s will, so that our house and our life are built on the rock that is Jesus.
