Time puts everyone in place

We have heard hundreds of times that “Time puts everyone in place”. We may even have wished for that to happen, for life to give what they deserve to those people who do harm or to reward us for doing things well.

However, we cannot say that this is true or false, since the designs of destiny escape our understanding. What happens, in truth, is that this saying is misunderstood.

We are neither vigilantes nor can we expect anything to happen by divine inspiration to others. It is about life offering us the possibility of reflecting and taking a step forward. In other words, the reality is not that we are going to pay the consequence of our actions, it is that We cannot prevent what we do from marking our life path.

If an eye for an eye existed, the world would go blind

Life gains perspective and acts, even if it is not always as we want or expect. At this point we already know that Time is not in a hurry, because it is a wise judge who does not sentence immediately.

When we don’t like something, find it unpleasant or unfair, we always turn to the idea of destiny as a vigilante. However, this is just another way of closing our eyes so as not to contemplate what we cannot control.

This makes us feel that everything is fine and that our happiness (or the reflection of it) is not in danger. Let’s say believing in a just world is a form of self-deception that leads us to get rid of what we don’t want to look at.

In any case, there are people full of evil to whom we would like time to give what they deserve, so we fantasize with the idea that the world is fair and that any good that comes to it will be just a mirage.

We like it and we need to believe in it to live with peace of mind. Our mind makes us feel the need that we can control everything, but the truth is that we can only manage a certain part of our experiences.

In any case, we cannot expect good things to come to us if we remain contemplating life without acting. The really effective thing is to sweat your shirt to have a chance of winning a competition, but nothing guarantees it, not even luck.

What did I do to deserve this?

Okay, many times what happens to us is not fair, but it is just that The idea of equity is only in our minds. However, this is not bad in the right measure because it helps us protect ourselves, not close ourselves off out of fear and order our world.

That is to say, it would be very difficult to live without fear thinking that we could be the next to suffer a misfortune and have to deal with certain difficulties. In any case, it is important that we try to confront and work against injustices instead of approaching positions with the passivity that characterizes us. That is, that We have to avoid falling into the trap of victimhood and complaint and sow seeds that allow us to balance forces in the same way that an athlete trains every day to have a chance of winning the competition.

Being a good person does not guarantee that wonderful things will happen to us, just as being bad will not fill someone’s life with misfortunes. But all this doesn’t matter, because what we should worry about is what we can do every day for our lives and the lives of others.

In the end, time does not have everything in its hand, but we are responsible for letting it act, for organizing our destiny. Remember that the happiest people don’t always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they find in their path.
