This is how some actors in the movie “The Fifth Element” are, 25 years after the premiere

The Fifth Element is one of the most beloved films by moviegoers. Many viewers fondly remember Milla Jovovich as the character who made her career take off. Over time, the production became a cult film, a classic that doesn’t seem to feel the effects of time. However, this same time does not forgive the actors and, today, they are very different from how they were at the premiere of the feature, 25 years ago.

Bruce Willis was already a well-known actor and, at the time, had already worked with great directors. In this film, under the direction of Luc Besson, he plays the protagonist Korben Dallas.

The most recent production with the actor in the cast was the western Gunfight at Dry River, from 2021. He is currently shooting The Chelsea Cowboy.

Maïwenn was the enigmatic Diva Plavalaguna, a captivating-voiced extraterrestrial who, in secret, also took care of Earth. The actress was well known in French cinema at the time she was cast by Besson. Today, she is an established director. In 2020, Maïwenn released DNA, a feature very well received by specialized critics. Now, she is preparing a film about Louis XV, with Johnny Depp in the cast.

Chris Tucker played the eccentric radio show host who finds himself at the wrong time and at the wrong time. Still, he manages to save the world, alongside the hero of the plot. Mathieu Kassovitz is a French actor/director who is very popular in his country. In The Fifth Element, he appears for a few seconds in a hilarious role. Currently, he continues to act, playing more serious characters that led him to win several awards as an actor, in his native France.

Sam Douglas had a very small role as one of the cops, but that was just the beginning of a great career, allowing him to appear in 41 films in supporting roles. This year, we got a chance to see him in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Leatherface Returns, released on a streaming platform.

The “divine language” spoken by Leelo was created by the director, Luc Besson. It is a complete language, consisting of 400 words. Milla Jovovich and Besson held conversations and exchanged letters in that language with the intention of practicing it. By the end of filming, the two were able to converse in that language.Luc Besson, director and writer of the script, imagined the plot when he was in high school. He created the world where the plot unfolds as an outlet for his loneliness. The story began to be written when he was 16 years old, but the movie wouldn’t be released until he was 38. Leelo’s full name is “Leeloominaï Lekatariba Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat De Sebat”, according to the director’s diary. Julia Roberts was considered for the role of Leelo. yes.
