The Psychologist – The Doctor Is Out: Trailer and Analysis

Synopsis: A movie in which Kevin Space does a great job playing a celebrity psychologist in Los Angeles. Among his client list are: a famous actress, Kate Amberson, an out-of-control and insecure young writer, Jeremy, and an obsessive-compulsive agent, Patrick.

Disillusioned with his career and personal life, Henry’s only hope of salvation could come from his first clinical case outside the celebrity world. The patient is a beautiful but troubled girl named Jemma. Writer of a best seller book, she ends up having to face her internal conflicts. She seeks meaning in her life, existential and ethical issues are some of them.

Recommended for every psychology student.

Analysis: The film shows the harsh reality of a psychologist, passing a negative image, but necessary for the profession, in which the psychologist who does not treat himself so little will treat his patient, he may even be able to identify some nucleus, but if he does not dissolved its core will certainly not dissolve or resolve the patient’s problem.

In matters of counter-transference, I believe that it is time for the professional to realize that he has contents that need to be worked on in psychotherapy or supervision. Otherwise, the psychologist will look for compensatory bonds that are very well illustrated in the film.
