Antique or period items are always interesting and amazing, but jewelry is even better: an elegant bracelet was discovered in Siberia in 2008, about 70,000 years old. Who wouldn’t want to wear the oldest jewelry in the world? And we are sure that there are still more ancient objects that humanity is about to discover!

Incredible.club found 11 ancient objects discovered on Earth. This might open a new chapter of history for you.

11. Antique sunglasses

These antique sunglasses remotely resemble their modern versions and were made for the same purpose. This design, with small eye holes, served to protect the eyes from a lot of sunlight. They were often used in winter, when the sun’s glare became more intense during snowy days. They were used, for the most part, by people from the arctic regions of Canada.

10. The First Swiss Army Knife

Here you can see a Swiss Army knife from the time of the Roman Empire, 200 BC This tool was found in the Mediterranean in the 1990s. But in this one there are no corkscrews or screwdrivers, like modern ones. It includes a fork, a spoon, a knife and a toothpick, all useful items for enjoying a meal.

9. The first prosthesis

8. Former therapeutic dental work

That tooth was from the lower jaw of a man who died 6,500 years ago. The canine was repaired so subtly that scientists didn’t notice it at first. Beeswax was only discovered after further examination, a century after its discovery. However, this is not the oldest demonstration of dental practice in the world. One of the oldest known works dates to 14,000 years ago, when a young man’s tooth was drilled.

7. The oldest hymn

These clay tablets with half-written lyrics using cuneiform signs in the “Hurrian” language are the oldest pieces of music. They were discovered in Syria, which was once the ancient city of Ugarit. One of these tablets contains a hymn, the oldest song in the world. Interesting to know that it also includes instructions on how to play the song.

6. The first toilets with “flush”

In the 1st century AD, the Turkish city of Ephesus had public toilets almost as good as some modern ones. Three long benches were equipped with 36 holes. The most surprising part of the design was, of course, the fact that there was running water under the seats, which helped to get rid of the debris that lay below.

5. Ancient pre-ceramic mask

This stone mask is considered to be the oldest in the world. There is still not enough information about it, but archaeologists believe it dates to 7,000 BC, a pre-ceramic era of the Neolithic period.

4. The oldest zircon

3. A shoe from 5.5 millennia ago

This leather slipper-like shoe was found in a cave in Armenia. The 5,500-year-old shoe was full of weeds and covered with sheep residue, which helped preserve it very well. It’s a right-foot shoe, equivalent to a size 36, that probably belonged to a woman.

2. A 5,000 year old chewing gum

Chewing gum was also popular in Finland’s Neolithic period. In 1993, a British student discovered a 5,000-year-old piece of birch bark tar at the excavation site. Neolithic people believed that birch tar had antiseptic properties and was able to treat teeth from gum-related infections.

1. A 70,000-year-old bracelet

In 2008, Russian archaeologists discovered what is believed to be the oldest jewel in the world: a bracelet that is more than 70,000 years old. It was unearthed in a cave in Siberia and is believed to have belonged to the Denisovan hominids. The bracelet has certain holes for which scientists have not yet been able to find an explanation, given that the culture is almost 100,000 years old and therefore there could be no piercing technology, considering that it was not developed until at least the last Neolithic period. However, the bracelet is made of chlorite, which gives it an exceptionally beautiful green color.
