Cases of demonic possession are increasing
Since seeing The Exorcist In the 80’s I was fascinated by all aspects of the occult. No more than demonic possession. But what is it? Why are the case numbers increasing? And can it be avoided?
This is written from a spiritual perspective, not a psychological one. This is not written from a scientific point of view. I fully accept that some suspected cases of possession are nothing more than mental illness. That being said, there are some cases that stand out, such as those involving professional witnesses, that cannot be easily ruled out.

The difference between obsession and mental illness
Be careful not to confuse mental illness with demonic possession. According to the Catholic News Agency, the difference between the two is that a person who is possessed will react very clearly and negatively to the presence and prayers of an exorcist, while someone with a mental illness will not show the same reaction.

It can be difficult for you to tell if you are possessed by a demon. The best option you have is to summon a priest trained in exorcism. If you are a trained exorcist, you have many tools at your disposal to determine if you are possessed or not. Due to the recent increase in demonic possession, more priests are being trained in exorcism each year, so it shouldn’t be that hard to get in touch with one.

There are some clear signs of ownership that you need to be aware of. When the demon takes control of its host, certain behaviors will emerge that distinguish possession from something else, such as a mental illness.
Weird acting: The person in question will start doing a variety of strange things that they normally never do. Maybe they start smoking or start speaking another language even if they don’t speak the language. They will start behaving very differently than normal.
Night Terror: The demon’s powers increase at night when the host is asleep, allowing it to experience horrific dreams and night terrors. They can also wake up in the middle of the night and behave strangely.
Negative Response to Prayer: This sign is one of the most critical and important, since a demon-possessed person becomes physically ill when a priest or exorcist is present and says a prayer. The possessed person will try to stop the prayers and may hit the priest, so be careful.
What happens when you’re obsessed?
When a demon starts to take control of your body, a few things happen, such as:
Other voice: You may start speaking in a different voice that sounds very different from your normal speaking voice. You can also suddenly start speaking in different languages even though you don’t know how to speak them normally.
Different personality: Your personality can change abruptly when the demon takes hold of your body. You may experience wild mood swings and start engaging in activities that you would normally never do.
New Skills: You can suddenly have new abilities and skills that you never had before, such as: B. Skilled use of weapons or other technical skills.
Supernatural Knowledge: Maybe you somehow know things that only a select few know. When the demon takes possession of your body, its spirit will merge with yours and it will have knowledge of otherworldly things.
Three stages of demonic possession
There are three generally recognized stages of demonic possession. Although there is some overlap between the stages, there are distinct characteristics in each stage. As the demon invades its host, it slowly takes control of the ship.

1. Manifestation and infestation
This can affect houses, forests, cars, even a doll. They call it; an infestation can take place in it.
Think of it as a kind of haunting with the explicit notion that the demon introduces itself through clandestine means to the intended target. That could mean pretending to be the ghost of a lost little girl or a dead relative, or even attending a Ouija board meeting or seance with the express aim of breaking your resistance.
The demon is looking for approval at this stage, approval to stay. It almost takes permission to start revealing its true self. It will slowly increase in pace as the demon gains strength while the chosen individual loses his.
2. Oppression
Now we come to the second stage: oppression. Here the entity makes its true identity known and enters full attack mode. This can be of a physical, mental and psychological nature and is intended to break the will to live of the person concerned. Sleep deprivation, increased paranormal activity, bites, scratches, and even sexual assault can occur.
At this point, the victim can consult a psychic or paranormal investigation group. This can be dangerous if they don’t know what they are dealing with and will often make things worse.
Depression is often a symptom of this phase, and when the will and belief of the individual reach a breaking point, the demonic entity will move on to the third and final phase, possession.
3. Full possession
In this final and most dangerous phase, the demon now has enough power and power over the individual to “close the deal” so to speak. Typically, the affected person will have little to no self-esteem, will, or belief.
The evil being will be in control most of the time, and the affected individual may hear voices telling them to harm others or themselves. Manipulation is at an all-time high and the soul of the individual is at stake.
At worst, the demon can even have parasitic control over the host body, which is really at the base level, which is a demon. The aim of the demon at this point is to drive those affected to commit suicide, to take as many people as possible with them and thus damn their souls to an eternity in hell.
Get rid of a demon
There are different ways to get rid of a demon, from simple to complex. As I said before, getting a certified exorcist is probably best. The priest will be able to remove the demon and bring it back to where it came from. Keep in mind that hiring a priest is expensive, but is a necessary step if you want to rid yourself of demons.
Why are cases of exorcism increasing?
Worldwide, the Catholic Church appears to be increasing the number of exorcists in its army of holy warriors. The real question in all of this is why?
Reading multiple sources, including Examiner.com and the Telegraph (a British newspaper), it seems that in May 2013, Father Gabriele Amorth, a priest from Italy, said he had helped perform over 160,000 exorcisms. He even called on Pope Francis to give all priests the right to perform exorcisms to deal with the rise in demonic possession. According to Father Amorth, the escalation of possessions could be due to the proliferation of paranormal shows on the internet and television and the rise of occult practices. The wealth of information on the subject is amazing and makes it easier for people to delve into things they just don’t understand.
It seems that the modern world is making more and more of these cases appear; however, no one can give a good explanation as to why this is happening. Obviously there is something about the organization of the modern world that causes more demonic possession, but no one can determine the main factor in all of this.
It’s a disturbing trend that more and more people are inviting the demonic into their homes and ultimately into themselves.
