See the list of Oscar-nominated films 2018

On January 23, the list of nominees for the Oscar 2018 was released, which will take place on March 5, Sunday. The ceremony is the most popular in the film industry and awards the best films, directors, screenwriters, actors, actresses and many other technical categories according to the Hollywood film academy. There are also awards for documentaries, short films, foreign films and others.

Check out 30 films that received some nomination in different categories and will most likely take some awards.

1. The Shape of Water

A mute janitor works in a scientific laboratory where an amphibian-man project is being carried out. The young woman falls in love with him and helps him escape a sad fate. The film is by the wonderful director Guillermo del ToroπŸ‡§πŸ‡· and it has received the most nominations (13 in total), just one less than Titanic and La La Land.

2. No Love

Zhenya and Boris are parting, and each of them lives their own lives and dreams of ending this process as soon as possible. Behind many emotions and discussions, they forget their 12-year-old son, who, feeling alone, disappears. The director Andrey Zvyagintsevwith a lot of class, shows the most morbid side of our society.

3. Dunkirk

The film is based on real events and tells of an operation to rescue 300,000 soldiers from Dunkirk, on the border between France and Belgium. The plot takes place during the Second World War. Christopher Nolan was recognized for the first time as best director for this beautiful war drama that leaves the viewer very moved. Of course, time is a present theme, as always in his films.

4. Run!

A black photographer from New York must face a difficult test: meeting his white bride’s parents. The issue is complicated by her family being elite and quite strange. A different horror film with a lot of social content and very interesting plot twists that received 4 Oscar nominations.

5. Phantom Thread

London fashion designer Reynolds Woodcock’s life changes dramatically when he meets his muse, the interesting Alma. A brilliant and very subtle film about how difficult it is to be a genius, and how much worse it is to live a love story with him. It is said to be the last film by Daniel Day-Lewis, who has won 3 Academy Awards for Best Actor.

6. The Destiny of a Nation

The film shows the evolution of Winston Churchill to be Prime Minister of Great Britain. A film filled with politics that has all the brilliance of Gary Oldman. If he takes the best actor award, we’ll probably have a nice acceptance speech.

The film tells how the first female editor of the washington post and editor Ben Bradley start a competition against the The New York Times to see who will be the first to reveal to readers the country’s greatest secrets, hidden for over 30 years. The film features a star cast: Meryl Streep and Tom HanksπŸ‡§πŸ‡· Oh, and the director is none other than steven SpielbergπŸ‡§πŸ‡·

In Miguel’s family, a 12-year-old boy, music lessons are serious business. Miguel dreams of playing the guitar, and this dream takes him to the Land of the Dead, where he is forced to look for his favorite singer. A very colorful film that touches the soul of viewers.
