“Sea water has a very unknown therapeutic potential”

Sea water has a therapeutic potential and nutritional unknown by most doctors.

That is the message of this passionate and committed doctor, who has become one of the main disseminators of the sea water therapies and that she is very critical of the tendency of current medicine to abuse drugs.

Interview with Teresa Ilari

—What are the properties of sea water?
—It contains the entire periodic table of minerals and trace elements that the body needs for optimal functioning, and which we lack due to diets based on junk food, meats and refined foods.

In addition, it has an alkaline pH of 8.4, which counteracts the harmful acidification of our internal environment. It is also nutritional, since if it is collected near the surface it contains plankton, rich in proteins, vitamins and nucleic acids.

Three main effects have been described: hydroelectrolytic rebalancing, enzyme replacement and cell regeneration.

Sea water, health benefits

—For what health problems is it most recommended?
—It helps everyone, since it improves the quality of our internal environment (the homeopaths’ terrain), in which the trillions of cells that make up our body swim.

It has shown good results in patients with cancer, renal failure, hypertensives, diabetics, skin, gastrointestinal, rheumatic diseases, epilepsy, etc.

—But drinking sea water, initially, generates a certain rejection. Doesn’t it have any harmful side effects?
—No, because it contains all the elements that gave rise to life in the marine environment 3,500 million years ago.

By replenishing it, it favors conditions to “restore life” to diseased organs.

It helps hypertensive patients to control their blood pressure, and after a few months they can discontinue pharmaceutical treatment, with excellent control of their blood pressure figures. Patients with thyroid problems can eventually stop their drugs or reduce the dose.

Due to an osmotic effect, when it is ingested hypertonic, it can cause liquid stools, which is not bad, since it cleanses the colon, often full of toxins from the unnatural or non-ecological foods we eat. Good results are also achieved in patients suffering from renal failure, due to its diuretic effect. In these cases medical control is required.

—Does a healthy person also get benefits?
—A healthy person will have more energy. And it has applications in the elderly and in high performance sports. It has a rejuvenating and preventive power.

proven efficacy

—How did you discover the benefits of seawater? If there were almost no studies, wasn’t it risky to use it?
—I discovered them through the information provided to Nicaragua by Laureano Domínguez, a Colombian journalist.

He had studied the work of René Quinton, the great French scientist who saved thousands of lives in France’s marine dispensaries by applying seawater in the last century.

For his great scientific work he deserved the French Academy of Sciences Award and all the honors from the King of Egypt when he managed to control a cholera epidemic in that country with the marine method.

Managing seawater is not risky. Since 2003 there is a wide casuistry, plus the work of Dr. René Quinton. Quinton’s plasma (hypertonic or isotonic seawater) was listed in the French pharmacopoeia and until recently was reimbursed by the French Social Security.

“If it’s so beneficial, why isn’t it widely used?” Are there investigations underway?
—There have been many medical studies published in scientific journals in Colombia, those of Dr. Wilmer Soler, a professor at the prestigious University of Antioquia, in Medellín.

One of them deserved the National Science Award. Studies have also been carried out at the National Agrarian University of Nicaragua that verified its effectiveness in the veterinary field.

Victoria Vendrell, a Spanish nurse, has proven the benefits of ingesting half a liter a day in malnourished children. I have not carried out studies because I have a high demand for care and I lack time, but at the Santo Domingo Clinic and other marine clinics in Nicaragua we have thousands of cured cases and testimonies that can corroborate it.

And I have received testimonials from Spain and all of Latin America on the internet.

—Can you tell us about any special case of recovery by seawater?
—A patient with cirrhosis of the liver had fluid retention in the abdominal cavity and was evicted by official medicine.

Six to eight liters of fluid per week were “removed” from her abdomen (paracentesis). When she began to drink seawater, with its diuretic effect, the volume of retained fluid decreased, she was able to stop taking the drugs and after a month she no longer needed paracentesis.

From official medicine, it could only have been achieved with a liver transplant, and at that time in Nicaragua it was not done.

—You have organized a water collection service on the beach. Is it advisable to collect it from the sea instead of buying it sterilized?
—At the clinic we analyze the water and post the results that demonstrate its potability.

Contaminating microbes dehydrate and die in a hyperosmolar environment; that is to say, the microbes of accidental terrestrial origin are inactivated in the marine environment.

How marine therapy is practiced

to your patients Dr. Ilari usually prescribes a quantity of half a liter of water a day. Could be hypertonic, that is, alone, with 36 grams of salts per liter of water. Another option is the isotonicmixed with weakly mineralized water that has 9 grams of salts per liter.

It also can mix with fruit juices or use it to salt food instead of salt.

It’s a therapeutic adjuvant: it can be taken along with conventional treatments.

Teresa Ilari is an internist, homeopath, flower therapist, seawater prescriber, NMG (New German Medicine) practitioner and teacher.

Originally Catalan, she works in Nicaragua, where she has contributed to the development of Law 774 “on natural medicine, complementary therapies and natural products”, in force since 2011.

It has also promoted the national program of marine dispensaries that promote popular consumption of seawater. He directs the Santo Domingo Clinic in Managua and is a lecturer.
