Also according to the consultant, the shape of the body is more apparent with the piece, so care is needed. “The size of the piece has to be correct, since satin is a fluid fabric, so if it is too tight, it will compromise the fit”, she reveals.

And for the fit of the garment to be perfect, taking the fabric to a seamstress to make the garment to measure is an excellent option. However, care remains: “You cannot forget that the quality of the fabric and the seamstress is important for a satisfactory result”, recalls Renata. The consultant gives yet another tip when choosing the piece: “A-cuts are great options for satin pieces and they mark less”.

Very comfortable, satin pieces come to mind when you think of lightness. However, Renata warns that not all satins are that light for summer days. “Satin is without a doubt a soft fabric. But if it is of poor quality or very thick, it prevents perspiration, so it is not recommended for very hot days”, reveals the consultant. Because it has a high yarn density, which prevents vision between the wefts, satin is not a transparent fabric and therefore is more than released for work environments.

As satin is usually a brighter piece and therefore eye-catching, it is important to keep an eye on the balance between the pieces. “Satins with a lot of shine ask for more neutral pieces, but they can be mixed with other types of fabric without any problem”, emphasizes Renata.

Regarding the colors of the satin pieces, it is permissible to dare: “Anything can be done. The fabric is available in many different colors. The ideal is to use the colors determined in your color chart (made with a chromatic analysis) so that the colors enhance your skin tone”, says the consultant.
