“Reverse prayer” challenge, another fad created by Chinese women on the internet –

The new challenge on social networks launched by the Chinese is to test their level of flexibility. The so-called “reverse prayer”, is nothing more than putting your hands together (and holding a cell phone) behind your back. The closer your fingers are to the neck, the greater your flexibility. If you can pull off the move, congratulations, it proves you have a great stretch. Otherwise, you cannot participate in the challenge.

For yoga practitioners, the position is nothing new. The challenge posture is the Tadasana Paschima Namaskar (mountain with hands together behind the back), widely used to treat chronic pain in the elbow, for example. “The position of the arms offers greater mobility to the shoulders, elbows and wrists. It must be performed with an erect spine, shoulders aligned and chest open”, explains the yoga instructor Carla Ximenesfrom Sao Paulo.

But, don’t think that the movement is as simple as it seems. The instructor warns that you need to be careful to avoid joint injuries. The newsroom had fun trying to carry out the challenge, but the result was nothing like the photos shared by the girls.
