Superheroes are super popular these days. Of course, we would all love to have one or another superpower, like flying, walking through walls or traveling through time, but that’s not yet possible. If you could choose one superpower, which one would you choose?

Psychologists believe that the answer to this question can indicate a lot about our personality. In a job interview for a vacancy at Microsoft, for example, candidates for a high position were asked what they would choose: knowing how to fly or being invisible. A survey of 2,000 people to find out which superpowers are the most popular showed that men prefer the ability to travel through time and women prefer the gift of healing.

If the presence of a superpower were related to a certain risk, 37% of men and 22% of women would be willing to risk other people’s lives (and not their own) to have the ability to fly.

In response to the question ‘what would you do if you had the ability to fly: go on vacation to the country of your dreams or go to a country at war to help people in need?’, the vast majority chose the first alternative.

This makes us conclude that perhaps it is even better if the superpowers are not in the hands of ordinary people, but in the hands of superheroes.
