Puppy who couldn’t walk has grown into a beautiful active dog, thanks to the support of his foster family

Some people believe in fate, others in chance, but many also have a belief in the power of willpower. And when it comes to a happy, playful and courageous dog, there’s a lot to believe in.

O awesome.club will share the extraordinary adoption story of a family that decided to be the first home to give a puppy a chance no one wanted to take a chance on.

His name is Hugo and he was born with “swimming dog syndrome”, a neurological condition that often occurs in very small dogs and basically prevents movement of the extremities. He was abandoned at a shelter, where he was rescued by the Tucker family. The couple usually temporarily adopt dogs in disadvantaged situations, which require special treatments or rehabilitation therapies that normally no one wants to undertake.

But Hugo had a chance with the Tuckers. Thanks to the care of the entire family and their pack, the puppy who seemed to have low hopes began a promising path towards rehabilitation. The first thing was to do exercises in the water to strengthen the leg muscles.

Living with other dogs also helped him become more confident and try to imitate their movements. The Tucker farm pack has always been good and kind to the little one.

Hugo had to undergo some surgeries, but without a doubt what encouraged him to move forward was his positive attitude and willingness to walk and run like all the other dogs.

And finally the day came. Hugo was fully rehabilitated. He not only became an agile and strong dog, but also a faithful and noble companion. The Tuckers were happy with his evolution, but at the same time sad, because they knew it was time for Hugo to find a family that would give him all the attention and love he deserved.

For a few weeks they searched for the ideal family, one that was responsible, loving, and compassionate. They even opened a special Facebook account for the mission called Go Hugo Go (Go, Hugo, go! in free translation).

And in the same way that goodwill, optimism and good luck smiled on him to find the Tuckers, Hugo finally found his definitive home not far from the farm that saw him grow and walk. Shortly after, his story went viral and he is now traveling around the world as an example of hope for puppies born with the same condition.

In your opinion, what are the advantages of adopting a dog? Why is responsible adoption a good idea?
