How to say a prayer for a loved one?

Prayer for those we love

“Lord, fill (say the person’s name) with the full knowledge of Your Will.

May he perceive Your will in all things. Free him from decisions that aim only at his own interests and from, when making them, following the perverted standards of the world. Give you wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Free him from making use of dishonesty and the cunning of human wisdom, presumption and pride. Grant him the wisdom that comes from above – pure, peaceful, full of mercy. Let your life bring credit to Your name and please You in all things. It empowers you to do this, not only in praying and witnessing, but also in the routine of daily living.

May the little repairs he has to do, the little errands he receives, the meals, the way he dresses and everything else he does please You. Make him fruitful in every good work. Preserves him: from egocentrism and even “work-centeredness” that prevent him from practicing acts of kindness, kindness and generosity. Increase your knowledge of You.

May he see You clearly in Your Word. May he have communion with You in prayer and meditation. Fill him with the Spirit of holiness. Strengthen him according to Your glorious power, the power that raised Christ from the dead. Take their weakness and inability and submerge them in the ocean of Your omnipotence. Teach him to; perseverance and longsuffering.

It makes you patient with the faults and unpleasant habits of your colleagues and with the annoyances and irritations of everyday life. Make him patient in the face of countless interruptions and delays that, without reason, slow down the work.

It leads you to be tolerant of yourself, your own flaws and weaknesses. It overflows your heart with joy. May he see Your love and Your sovereign mercy in all circumstances. May he rejoice in the opportunities that require him to demonstrate the patience and meekness that come from You.

Praise be to you, O Lord, our God, for You have made (the person’s name) worthy to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. I give You thanks for Your mercy and Your transforming power in his life. I give You thanks because You called him from the empire of darkness and transported him to the oar of Your beloved Son.

Make, Lord, freedom from darkness and sin a practical reality in your daily life. And when you fall into sin, it quickly leads you to conviction and repentance. And may all glory be given to Jesus, our Lord and Savior, whose primacy is in all things. Amen.”

Prayer for the disembodied

“Please welcome, O God of kindness, the prayer I address to you for the Spirit of So-and-so! Make him perceive your divine lights, and facilitate his path to eternal happiness! Allow the Good Spirits to take my words and my thoughts to him.

And you, who I wanted so much in this world, hear my voice that calls you to give you a new proof of my affection!

God allowed you to be freed before me, and I could not regret it without showing selfishness, because it would be equivalent to wishing that you continued to be subject to the pains and sufferings of life. I therefore await, with resignation, the moment of our union, in that happier world, to which you arrived before me.

I know well that our separation is only momentary, and that, however long it may seem to me, its duration vanishes before the eternity of happiness that God promises to his chosen ones. May his kindness free me from doing anything that could delay this desired moment, and thus spare me the pain of not meeting you, when I leave my earthly captivity.

Oh, how sweet and comforting is the certainty that there is nothing more than a material veil between us that hides you from my eyes; the certainty that you can be here, by my side, see and hear me like before; that you don’t forget me, just as I don’t forget you; that our thoughts are incessantly confused, and that yours always follows me and supports me! May the peace of the Lord be with you!”
