“Oh, if we only knew how much affection saves, attention feeds and unity strengthens… We wouldn’t be losing each other every day.” Unknown author
We wouldn’t be! We would certainly be more attentive to the small details of everyday life and the importance of people in our life.
Here everything is so ephemeral, so fast and fleeting. Let’s look around: affection is in the small gestures.
Remember your mother, making a point of putting her favorite cookie on the fair list? That’s affection! Of that coworker who makes that coffee to your liking, just to see you happy? That’s affection!
That cousin you haven’t seen in years, who lived with you at that time when you still played with the rolimã cart (own manufacture) and knowing your taste for jabuticabas, made a point of bringing the last ones that were left in his place just to see you happy and with the eyes shining? So this is affection!
Affection is that, the small gestures of affection, the smile of satisfaction with your presence, the happiness of knowing about your achievements, the pleasure of sharing the joys. Affection feeds, sustains, unites, strengthens and makes people more human, happier.

Remember the popular saying: from life we take nothing? We don’t take it, but every gesture of affection and attention given to anyone, is immortalized! And sometimes we don’t even remember the affection we donate, but that’s not the most important thing, the most important thing is that we are caresses and affection in other people’s days, without charge, without other intentions, simply because it is natural to show the best of us.
We need to be more reciprocal in the gestures of affection, with ourselves, with our family members, with our friends, co-workers. It is these feelings and actions that take us out of defensive situations and make us better, more collaborative, important and welcome people wherever we go.
And as life is a Ferris wheel, which from time to time presents us with ups and downs, affection is essential for us to go through these cycles with more lightness. Affection always!
