Steel cables and recycled aluminum cans. With this small (and extremely cheap) material, the architects Joana Salgueiro Di Marino and Andrea Penna (RJ) created a panel of hanging vases for the living room. The installation is like this: drill the cans in four points – two near the mouth and two near the base -, then pass steel cables through the gaps. Attach the ends of them to the wall with hooks, forming the design you want. “Try to plant species that don’t grow much, as the can is small. In indoor environments, choose the ones that need little water”, recommends Andrea.

What a delight to prepare food using fresh herbs taken from their own garden! If your home has little space, take advantage of the kitchen window sill, as architects Marcelo Possidonio and Bianca Gatto (RJ) did. To match the environment, experts planted the seedlings in grain catchers, but you can use any utensil, like old pots and milk jugs.

Does your kitchen have a wall in front of the sink instead of a window? Take the opportunity to decorate it with vases. In the project by interior designers Rosane Servino and Juliene Assed de Carvalho (RJ), clay pots – with spices – were hung with a sponge. For a beautiful effect, use vases of different sizes.

This idea is perfect for small apartments: a planter mounted on the table in the living room! Architects Rosane Servino and Juliene Assed suggest cacti of different species for a cool look. Everything is very simple: take three or four wooden cachepots and place glass vases inside them, already with sand, white pebbles and the cacti planted. The advantage of this “garden” is that it does not need daily watering.
