Mother uses husband’s old sweaters to make clothes for daughter

Sometimes, we don’t quite know what to do with old clothes that are still in good condition and, tired of always wearing the same ones, we believe it’s time to pass them on to other people.

Stephanie Miller, an American art teacher, had a brilliant idea to give her husband’s old shirts a new look. After he brought home a sewing machine, which she bought for $50, Miller turned the pieces into clothes for his youngest daughters.

“We were living in a small one-bedroom apartment. I had little space to paint, and the oil paints I use have components that are harmful to health”, said the teacher to the Bored Panda portal. “With all the shock of the motherhood lifestyle, I felt like I lost my identity and suffered from postpartum depression.🇧🇷

The result was so incredible that, since then, she has sewn several clothes not only for herself but also for her daughters, who love to “play”. “My 3-year-old daughter calls the dresses I design for her ‘Elsa dresses’ and wears them every week,” said her mother. “When I’m doing laundry, they take their dad’s shirts and ask me to make dresses.”

So that Stephanie doesn’t stop work, both her husband and family friends and neighbors have donated their own clothes so that stock doesn’t run out.
